| Medicated Shampoo Does anybody use medicated shampoo for their yorkie? My vet recommended using medicated shampoo for Trixie because she's been itchy and has a mild form of Seborreah (overproduction of oil in the skin). But the shampoo that I got through the vet doesn't do anything for her coat!!! So I'm looking for a good medicated shampoo that's making her coat soft and silky and keeps it that way for a while. Any recommendations?

| You could try an oatmeal shampoo. That is supposed to be good for itchy skin. |

| When Chachi had bad skin problems the vet had us using Keratolux medicated shampoo. It didnt do anything for the coat but was a good shampoo for the skin problems. If you are going to use an oatmeal shampoo Target has a good honey oatmeal shampoo.

[QUOTE] That is the one we have right now.... I don't like it at all. She's still itching (altough less than before), her coat gets dry and tangly. And Trixie hates it because the shampoo has to soak in for 5 min. before we can rinse it out, and she gets so shivery, even with a heater on her...

| Has she been checked for mites. The vet thought Chachis problems were all alergies but did a skin scrape and found out he had mites too. He had to be dipped 6 times every ten days. Now his allergie and skin problems are gone. He is allergic to fleas so we have to be real carefulthat he doesnt get one flea. The vet said they can get mites when their immune systems are down. In Chachis case they were because of his allergic reaction to a flea. I hate that shampoo too.
