| To boot or not to boot..... What is everyone's opinion on booties for your pups? I found a pair at Target that I'm considering buying for my lil girl. (I live in NJ where we do get an occasional 15in of snow periodically, lol). |

| I think they look adorable, but most dogs hate them. Their paws are supposed to feel the ground and they can't feel it with them on. There was a really funny video on Funniest Home Videos of about 15 different dogs in booties and every one of them had the same reaction: picking their feet up really high and not wanting to step down. But, who knows your baby might like them. Tucker hates them.

| I can't say one way or the other here, but I will tell you this: a friend of mine lives in the UP of Michigan and they get plenty of snow there. He got some doggie boots because he was worried about his babies feet. He says Monty loves them and is now buying more..... |

Yorkie Lover Donating Member | I think it depends on the dog...some will tolerate them and some will not at all!!! But if you do have snow often I would consider them....I do know there are several members are here that use them regularly!!

| Just in my opinion, boots are too much. I have a little little girl and when I took her to NY I thought I should get her some so her little feet won't be cold. But then I thought about it and dogs have never needed boots in the past, plus she hated them and looked silly in them. She loved being able to feel everything beneath her. I didn't want to take that away from her, since she was already wearing a snow suit

| I was told by my vet to not put booties or sweaters on him in order to keep his immune system strong. I don't know how accurate this is.

| We bought a ton of doggie booties for the work dogs that were here when the bombing happened...The police officers requested them..I guess they are trained to tolerate them for protection of their feet, right? What about knitting little leg warmers if it is for warmth...Would that help? Bren

| I think boots are great but you do have to get your dogs used to them. Of course they will not like them when you first put them on because they are not used to them. Most dogs that I have owned also do not like being walked on a leash for the first few times either. You have to get them used to it. My yorkie got used to shoes fairly quickly and she does great with them.

| I bought a pair for Mojo and he didn't like them....okay, I only tried them on him for a few minutes here and there....so he never had a chance to get use to them. I do not have them anymore, but did get some cute/funny video!

| Most dogs hate them but they look so cute. Shana (Shanatink) had a pic of Chloe on here not to long ago wearing her boots. They are very cute!
