| i need an antibarking device Hello Dear Friends at Yorkietalk.com I was wonderinf of you could help me .......I adopted a yorkie in July, she was in really poor shape , we dont know her age it could be around 2 years old ....she is very reactive, we got her a trainer and she learned basic obedience, stay, sit, down, go inside the kennel, she gives her paw ...she is very very smart .....However she keeps barking like there is no tomorrow, she barks at any sound on the hallway, or outside the apartament, and sometimes she barks for no reason .....my neighbors didnt complain to me but to the condominium or residents association, now they want me to get rid of the dog or make her stop barking ......obviously we love her and we want to keep her .....I tried rescue drops but dindt work ....so I want to give it a try to an antibarking device ..but I have no idea what to buy ....they seem perfect and they advertise results in 24 hours. However when I read reviews I found out it s all lies .....have anyone tried an antibarking device that really works???? Thank you for all your help !!!! |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Some people are totally against anti-bark devices, however, if it's the sole thing left to try and it means being able to keep your kiddo - then I say: try it. But the caveat is: DO NOT USE SHOCK!! Use the beep or vibration settings only. Never, ever shock. Try the shock on yourself, and you'll see why I say that. So, you can try a couple things - either a device that hangs there and emits a RF sound/beep w/ barking (most do not work well, AND, they go off when they shouldn't...spooking/confusing the dog). Or, try an anti-bark collar w/ the beep/vibration option. I'd search Amazon and find one that has decent reviews.

| There are also collars that emit citronella spray instead of shocking

| I have bought a vibrating collar for Lily because she is an excited barker which means she barks in that high pitch bark when she gets excited about going out side or someone comes to visit. I got it for about 30$ it vibrates or has a sound the sound didn't seem to do much for her but the vibrate did. I tried it on my arm first and its like a small shavers feel. But when you put it around the neck I am sure it tickles and feel funny to them but it doesn't hear at all but it works like a charm. Lily stopped all the shrill barking and is learning how to talk to us with out barking. I even put it on with out turning it on once and it worked the same. Hope that helps. |
