Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Need 'Pet Sling' Recommendations... Our Wylie is blind and hasn't been able to go for walks for quite a while now, which I feel so bad about . I was thinking maybe we could buy a sling and carry him along when we do walks. I tried one from Amazon but maybe it wasn't big enough, plus he was very squirmy and didn't seem to find a "lounge-y" position that worked...so I returned it. I don't really want to get a stroller btw, would just prefer some sort of carrier where I'd be hands free to walk another dog or 2. Any recommendations? Thanks all!

| What about a back pack style that goes on the back or the front not the one were they stick there legs through that doesn't look comfortable to me. I have one that is a banana shape and a place for the head to go throw but Bella didn't like it maybe Lily will we will give it a try on her. |

| I am also on the hunt for some sort of sling. I have spent hours scouring the internet and am very surprised that I haven't been able to find something. I have been experimenting with different fabrics and feel confident that I am going to be able to pull something together. Currently I hold him with one arm kind of tucked at my waist. Monty fits very comfortably there and I am wanting to make something for this position. It will have to go over my other shoulder so there is no risk of him slipping off. This way when I am out and about and need both hands and it's unsafe to put him down ... voila! I have looked at a lot of baby slings but they don't offer the right kind of support for his body shape. He wouldn't stay laying on his back LOL. That made me laugh! He does lay down on my arm though. I am thinking it will be something that has some sort of semi-hard yet flexible skinny board that would give a tiny bit of a surface. |

| Oh the fundle looks great! Going to see if I can find one to be able to try it out. I had to go into the grocery store tonight to get vegetables to make a pork stock and I had to take Monty into the store with me as his crate wasn't in the car and I won't leave him alone even for a moment. He's too cute and can get stolen too quick! So I pop him into my hoodie and zip it so only his head is sticking out. I cradle him in the crook of my waist and he lays on my arm. As I was standing in line, I was observing his body layout and realized that what would work perfectly is to make a waist belt that wraps around my waist and then 3 sling type pieces that would come up the sides and front and back and hook in over the shoulder. Probably makes absolutely no sense talking in text lol. Sharon, my Partner's sister, who has ALS is 95% paralyzed. First time we took Monty to see her, he - all by himself - climbed up onto the bed and crawled over her arm and the arm on her chair to sit on her lap!! She cried. I cried. It was a beautiful moment. The last time I was there I was able to learn how to use the sling that moves her from her bed to her chair. It's a series of hooks and flaps of material which has given me the idea. Part of the problem is Monty is too wiggly for a container that has room especially if he can stand up. Doing it the way I am thinking, I would be swaddling him from a laying down position and then he would be tucked up firmly to my body! Brilliant! Will be much better for my lower back as well. 7.5 lbs is 7.5 lbs after all and quite a bit of weight to throw lopsided to a lower back. Monty & Sharon Monty Sharon.jpg |

| I haven't tried it, but a friend had also highly recommended the Fundle sling too when I was shopping around for purse-style bags.

| I personally like the ones we sold more than the Fundle. We only have a few left and the lady is not making them any more. Ann, I am sending you a message...
