| I use "wen" on my new puppy. I buy it via QVC. It's for human hair, but Chaz Dean is an avid dog lover and uses it on his dogs too and gives tips for it in the books that come with his products. Not only is it super moisturizing for Teddie's coat, but it can be used as a leave in conditioner so it helps prevent snarls. They also have oils that you can add to the cleansing conditioner so that it moisturizes the skin. Teddie seems to like it better than shampoo...no foam, no stripping of his hair. He smells good all of the time too, not that a puppy smells bad yet...they all smell like stuffed animals when they are little. I'm trying to ready Teddie for groomers, so this is the perfect avenue for getting him used to being touched, combed, handled, with using this product. It's not a put on and rinse quick, it is a put on, comb through, and wait a few minutes. I take the time to clear out his little eye goobers and get the muzzle area clean while I wait for it to do its job. Shampoos, I don't care what brand contain surfactants that dry your hair out. Since yorkie's hair is more like ours than say a labs is, we need to take special care of it. I use wen on my hair, that is why I knew about it and trusted it for Teddie. Anyhow, just thought I'd ramble and give everyone another option if they were looking.

By the way, Joey's breeder recommended Biogroom, and you can get free samples at this site. It's highly concentrated, so mix it with water before use. I've tried many different products, but I really love this, especially the cream rinse. Bio-Groom - Exceptional Pet Care Products for Over 30 Years

| Shampoo question Is it normal for yorkies to feel a little dirty/ greasy within a couple days after a bath! He is my first baby. A pet store recommended the shampoo I am using. But a couple days later his hair feels and looks dirty. |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Yes, Joey was a little grease ball the first year, I had to do twice a week baths for a while.

| I, too, was wondering what shampoo/conditioner you all use. I noticed a couple of you mentioned Vellus. My sister's Aunt-in-law (is that really a word??) invented Vellus. Elizabeth Taylor (when she was alive) and Oprah Winfrey use this product. When she first started out, my sister and I would go to her office and help her with printing the labels for the bottles. So it was quite interesting watching this go from conception to now. Unfortunately, she now has cancer and is not doing well. I use Vellus on Annie and I love how soft and silky her coat is. |

| We tried "Bobbi Panter, Natural Pet Products" Just happened to run into the "Bobbi Panter" products at our local pet shop's Doggie Sale Table. They listed all the ingredients + each one's function in the product & on the pup's skin and hair. Taffy seems to have done well with it. Since I couldn't find any mention of "Tearless" or non-irritating ingredients to the eyes in most doggie shampoos, I also got a bottle of the "Arm & Hammer, Tearless Shampoo for Dogs" which claims to "clean gently without irriating eyes"--I try to keep the bubbles away from his eyes anyway, but I do use the "Tearless" brand on Taffy's head and he seems very calm with it's use. He does seem to stay nice and clean with this combo. My problem with his hair looking "oily" comes 3 days after he has had his "flea & tick drops" put on--you have to spread-out the Advantix II drops carefully down the doggy's back, not just in one area between the front shoulders as the old Advantix product instructed. So, I wait 5 days after the application, and then, it's Bath Time! Their product says bathing doesn't affect it's product, but I give it 5 days to absorb first. He never has fleas or ticks and we are in the countryside, so I have stayed w/ all these products for 2 years. |

Senior Yorkie Talker | Little bit of vinegar, baking soda. Sometimes with a small amount at times of puppy hypo allergic shampoo into the mixture.

| I just purchased the Day to Day line from Chris Christensen Systems. I have heard great things about it and I like the smell. I don't have my pup yet but hope that this works good. If not I will let you all know when I try it out. I hope you find the right potion.! hehe
