| Harness and ID Tag question? If you buy a harness, do you need to also buy a collar, or can you just attach the ID Tags to the harness as well? I think harness+leash+collar+ID Tags is a bit much, lol.

| I have a collar with her tag on her all the time. I only use the harness when she is on her leash. She doesn't seem to mind...she only weighs 2# |

| Personal preference. I only walk ZoE in a harness. Her tags (rabies and ID) are clipped to the harness and easily changeable to whatever harness we use on a given day. She doesn't wear a collar while at home. I have multiple doors you have to go through to get out of my house, and I live alone, so her accidentally getting out isn't a real concern for me. She is microchipped. I bought a monogrammed collar that has my phone number embroidered on it, so it doesn't need tags hanging from it. ZoE didn't take to wearing a collar, probably because I didn't introduce it until she was a couple of years old. She scratches at it the entire time she has it on so I'd never leave her alone in it as I fear she'd get her paw or nail caught in it while I was gone and injure herself. The concern is, if a pup is to escape a home or yard, they won't be returned if people don't know who to contact. I recommend microchipping, but it is limited by someone having to take the found pet to a vet or shelter to get it scanned, which is limited to business hours, and could delay the return of your pet.

| Cody wears his collar with his tags on it 24/7, he is also micro chipped. I like collars on dogs. He uses harness when on the leash. The collar & tags get a bit much when he wears his bandana's, but it what it is. The collar and tags will stay.

| Maggie wears a VERY thin pink leather collar with her tags...you cant even really see it on her right now among her fluffy fur (cotton coat). And she wears her harness/leash only when I take her outside to go potty. She is timid and has a few times before (if there is a sudden loud noise) tried to pull and back out of her harness...if she got away and was lost I would be devastated! So, collar stays on always, unless shes having a bath |

| The rolled leather collars are perfect for long hair since it won't bunch or pull. If the back of a rabies or license tag is blank, then you could have your phone numbers engraved along with her microchip number, otherwise, buy a metal tag to have engraved. A lobster claw clip to hold the tags works so well for taking off to put on a different color or harness.

| I thought hanging tags would be too big for my 3.5 lb boy. I found collar tags from Lucky Pet tags. I just received mine yesterday. The one I picked is metal and velcros directly on a flat collar or halter. They also have plastic ones and ones that rivet on. No dangling and no noise. Luckypet.com |

| Teddy wears a harness with his tags attached to it. He only wears his harness when we're out running errands or when he's on his walk. |

| I only use a harness, no collar. I believe you can clip all the tags on any harness but the Buddy Belt specifically has a little loop where you can clip the tags on.

| I have a collar buying addiction, LOL, so he always is in a collar except at night. I take it off every night and if I am home during the day, sometimes he will stay neeeeked if we're not doing anything. He has multiple leather collars, fabrics, etc lol. Here's 2 of his. But we walk on a harness only 99% of the time.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I have collars w/ ID tags on my 3 at all times, plus they're microchipped. I use their Buddy Belt harnesses for walks.

| Harnesses are not comfortable to wear all the time, it would be like a female wearing a bra all the the time. But since puppies can slip out the door or a natural disaster can happen while away from home or anything they need to have tags on for easy return. I think the best thing to do and I do it, is a collar with tags and never hook the leash to it but when there going to have the leash on use the harness. I hear the shelters say the biggest problem with lost dogs are no collars and no tags.

Donating YT 3000 Club Member | I put Galen's tags on his harness. He is a little guy. And I only put kitty breakaway collars on him when he is running around at home. And regular collars when we go out. .
