| pedigree dental stix Can anyone tell me whether you have heard of these or not!! I bought them for Cassie and she just loves them, I break them in half and give her that because they are about 7"long. She has only one left and I now decide to look and see what is in them and I read "do not give to dogs under 22 pounds in small print on the back. Can anyone figure out why that would be. Tried to find on the internet but it did not say anything on there about not giving under 22 pounds. They are about the same size as some of the other treats we give them. |

| I don't know much about these dental stixs either. But I do know my Vet knows what is good and bad for my dogs. If I remember ( My memory is not good) I will ask him what is in those stixs. I see my Vet tommorow, my last pup needs another Parvo Booster.

| Any thing by pedigree makes my girl toss her cookies. She had one first day home and not since. Not something my vet recomends for any dogs. joy |

| Fyi.... FYI... Found this site, your question maybe the ingredients. I didn't know, but they make these chews for small dogs too. http://froogle.google.com/froogle?q=...ff&oi=froogler Like I said in an earlier reply, If I remember I'll ask my Vet. I see him later today.

| Hi Carol; Like I said earlier, I'd ask my Vet. He wasn't sure of the ingredients, but he explained that it must be the measurements of some ingredient which makes it unhealthy for dogs under 22lbs. Breaking the stix doesn't cut the ingredients in half. He said if it's on the package, then it means do not give to dogs under 22lbs. Earlier today I replied with a link for these stixs, which has these stixs for smaller dogs. Hope this answers your question.

| This is good info. I have used the denta sticks from time to time and they do love them. Mine don't get upset stomachs over pedigree products, but at same time, I've learned it isnt the best out there. I think as long as they are on a good quality food anyway, other treats aren't that bad of a thing. I mean, i know "beggin strips" are not great health wise....but don't they just love them from time to time? I actually buy a bag of those about once a month. |

| Thanks Gracy Thanks you so much for helping me out. I have eye cancer and can not see too good without my glasses on and then only the bigger words. This saying "do not give to dogs under 22 pounds "was on the back of the package and in small print mixed in with a lot of other print. Most people on the average would not be checking that close. After I gave her the last one without checking on the back I was really upset to think I might have given her something that could really hurt her. Was up all night watching every move she made. It was because of all you guys out there saying to check to see if there is anything in these food products we give them that is not good for them. That is what made me look!! What happens to all the people who do not check?? Wonder if the smaller ones are alright if they will hurt in a bigger quanity. |
