| Puppy training pads in a litter box? Hello everyone. I need to find a good indoor restroom for Crissie. She is left alone for around 4-6 hours when I'm at school, and she obviously can't hold her bladder that long. I hate that she has to wear diapers and sit in her own mess for that long. She IS trained on wee wee pads, but they look terrible and sometimes leak. Would putting them in a litter box make it less unsightly? For anyone who has tried this, what would you rate the smell factor on a scale of 1-5. (5 being the worst scent ever concocted.) Other indoor potty suggestions are great, but Crissie is picky and dislikes dog litter. Thanks for the help.

I put a extra large washable pade under ZoE's potty pads, so it catches any leaks off the edge. I have a couple of pretty fabric washable pads, that I'm always meaning to get out before company arrives...but I usually forget to. Fortunately her pads are down the hallway, so not visable from the main living areas of the house. I, personally, wouldn't use a litter box (unless I custom made it myself due to the size of them) as ZoE likes a large potty area, so I put down a couple of pads so she has room to walk around sniffing for her perfect spot, then doing the oh so important circling, before she finally goes.

| I have already 'played' with the litter box idea.. Unfortunately, did not work out for us.... The reason being is that Enzie could not understand that he needs to get INTO the littler box, and not just place the front paws in! |

well, the litterbox i use is not a typical cat litterbox. It is made for dogs. It has 9 in high sides on 3 sides and the front is only about 1 inch high.. It has worked out great for my oscar. I understand though that one thing does not work for every dog

| I saw it on Amazon, just Googled! Really wish they work for us because the box is not that cheap... As I said before, we have a bit of a 'targeting' issue, i.e. the front paws go onto a pad and the back one are left outside. The outcome is on the floor |

| Hmmmm, I might be interested in this also. We are currently using pee pads locked down on a frame sold at Petco. Steve is getting a little big for it. He seems to not always get all the way on it now. Wonder if he is too set on the pee pad frame to change to it in a littler box???? Anyone tried that? |

oscar does his poos in the center of the box but he likes to stand half way in the box and hike his leg on the right corner so i have to fold a pad in half and put under that corner to catch the excess pee. lol

| Polo was trained to use wood pellets like these: Purina secondnature Dog Litter, 25 lbs.:... You can get these in bulk at feed stores. If he pee's, the pellets absorb the liquid and turn into dust that you scoop up. If he poops... its a quick scoop as well... I can't imgine having to clean a pad???

| I use a sterlite container from Walmarts about $5 not very it is a 32 liter place the puppy pad inside it and it works great. I have a couple of them through out the house. In expensive and it is larger than a cat litter box so they can walk around to do their business.. I do not use the lid. |
