| Unsure What To Give What is the best heart worm and flea and tick medicine to give to yorkies. I was giving sentinel flavor tabs for the last three years, which took care of both fleas and heart worms but is no longer available. My yorkies are very sensitive to many medicines. I am very unsure what to give them. |

| I used Interceptor for Jilly and now Tibbe until I had to change due to the problems with getting it and switched to Heartguard, which Tibbe has now had two doses of with no apparent problems but then he's not sensitive to drugs to date. I won't know if its working to prevent heartworms until his next heartworm test.

| The active ingredients in Sentinel are milbemycin oxime plus lufenuron for fleas...Trifexis uses the same milbemycin but uses a different flea med., Spinosad. If your baby tolerated Sentinel, check with your vet about what he thinks about switching to Trifexis. I now give all my dogs Canimax....I get it from Australia and it is given every six weeks, by mouth. Vets fly all up in the air about shipping meds in from overseas, but it works perfectly fine for me. My dogs are doing fabulously on it....no untoward effects and no heartworms or intestinal parasites, including tapeworms. It does NOT address fleas. All my puppies are started on Revolution puppy to go to their new homes. |

| We use Heartgard Plus. I break it into 3 small pieces and Raley thinks it's a treat. He loves it!
