Yorkie Yakker | chicken allergy? My girl was eating Fresh Selects turkey and chicken. She had been biting and scratching like she had fleas and licking her paws. After reading some of the forums here, I think she may be allergic to chicken. I have gotten her the Blue homestyle lamb dinner w/veges & brown rice. She seems to love the taste. I'm hoping it will ease or stop all the scratching. Has anyone else got their yorkies on this food or had issues with chicken allergies? |

| I have seen more grain allergies than meat allergies. If you don't see improvement with this change in food you might want to try a grain free type. |

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | That's where I started when my Chanel started getting sick, with soft smelly stools, I put her in a grain free diet , then when she whelp her litter I put her back on her puppy food and I bought her organic chicken breast and gave it to her, well that when the allergy monster let loose, she went NUTS scratching like she had fleas, to the point that she broke her skin in her leg, and was licking her paws like she wanted to eat them, so I ran her to the Emergency vet, and she got a shot of benadryl and by talking to the vet we decided to take her off everything chicken, I went and I put her in a grain free chicken free diet, she started getting better by the day, now two months later, she still licking her paws every now and then, but her stools are normal and her skin is all healed and she does not scratch anymore. last week I gave her 1/2 a can of Natures Variety can salmon, and she is fine, so soon I am going to try the raw medallions the venison and beef. that is my Chanel's story, this allergy hit out of the blue, she is almost 4 years old. hugs, |

Yorkie Yakker | thanks so much carmen. I have put her on Blue lamb dog food so I'm hoping that will work out. I want to try the natures variety but it is so expensive! Also, we live in a small rural town and I would have to order it online or travel a good distance to get it. I hope your little Chanel keeps progressing good. She's very lucky to have such a dedicated mom. |
