Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Solvit Booster Seat Review Wanted to share my experience with this seat with you. It's a very basic item - metal frame covered with faux leather, lined with sheepskin-type fabric, which is removable for washing. Mine is the medium size and Tallulah weighs about 4.5 pounds now. I've included a photo showing how T looks in the seat. It's actually a little roomier than the photo shows but I would probably move up a size if she weighed more than 8 or so lb. It's easily installed - one strap goes over the headrest, and the other goes around the backrest midway between the headrest and the seat. You do need a car with a split backrest for this. Not recommended to put in the front passenger seat unless you can disable the airbag. There is a nice heavyweight clip for attaching to the dog's harness. It's on a long enough and heavy enough strap to let Tallulah have freedom to move around in the seat without risking her getting out. What I particularly like about this seat is that she can see all around her while sitting up, and there's plenty of room for her to lie down and take a nap. Over the Thanksgiving weekend we made the trip to Yuma and back (4 hours going, 6 hours returning) with no problem. I was so happy with the seat - both functionality and price - that I bought a second one for my niece, who is Tallulah's chauffeur and babysitter after Yorkie Camp because I can't make it home from work in time to pick her up. |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | It's always great to hear that someone likes a product, and since I edit the vendors' list the name "Solvit" sounded familiar. Capt_noonie just opened a website and sells a car seat made by them. She's not yet on the list, so here's a link if anyone's interested. She gives 10% discount to YT members, just PM her. | Hello to all yorkie lovers, I purchased a booster car seat for my 7 pound female Yorkie at Petco. The name brand was not available, so I purchased the store brand. It is reasonable in price and looks just like the name brand. It comes with a carry bag and a removable seat cover. The seat is made of canvas over a metal frame with straps around the passerger seat. It sets up high enough that your pet can see out the window. My "Pickles" just loves it. |

| I bought the Solvit large and both my little guys who are 3 and 4.2lbs fit in it very comfortably, I really like it. You have to get omething like a small coupler, because there is only one harness attachment.

| I purchased an Outward Hound car seat, similar (in looks, not quality)to the Solvit, for our Graysee, when she was a small puppy, and it worked well enough while she was small. Once she became full-grown, however, it lacked the proper quality to protect her, as I found out one day when I had to slam on the brakes to avoid a collision; she flew right out of the seat, and was dangling by the tether! Since she has grown a bit larger than a "breed standard" Yorkie, I have found a better choice called Fido Rido. It's made right here in the USA, from the same type of material as a child's car seat. It is injection-molded plastic, is considerably larger than most, and comes with dual straps (or "seat belts"), with a harness that has attachment rings for the seat straps. You can find it online just by typing in fidorido.com. I like it because it is tall enough so our Graysee can stand up and look out the rear seat window. I've customized mine by adding some extra cushioning under the faux lambswool cover. Graysee loves it! There are two-seaters available, also. |
