After taking Tallulah on the road with her folding playpen, I wanted to share our experience with you. I am totally delighted with the way this item meets our needs. We went back and forth from the hotel to my sister's house several times and it was SO easy to take this pen with us. It folds up flat very easily, and slips into a carrying sleeve with handles. Very light so I hardly notice the weight when carrying it.
The top can be left open, or there is a mesh cover that can be zipped closed. Since Tallulah is an escape artist, whenever she isn't being watched, we zip the cover closed.
I would not consider this size an exercise pen -- although there is room for her bed, a piddle pad, her bowls, and a little play room, she obviously can't get up to full speed, but she does love rolling around in it - as long as someone is there with her. So we are using it for her permanent sleeping quarters and for when she has to be left unattended for a few minutes. She's just too little and not completely potty trained to have unsupervised freedom.
Here's a link to the pen on amazon.com. It's listed as XS -- I've also seen the exact same size listed as S on ebay.com --- so when ordering, go by the dimensions given, not the generic size.
Amazon.com: Best Pet Folding Play Pen - XS -...
I bought the pen we have through ebay -- you can find several different colors and sizes there. Yesterday I ordered two more through Amazon.com -- one to keep in the car for impromptu visits to friends and family, and one to move around the house without having to move all of Tallulah's bedtime accoutrements -- also to be a spare in case the one in the bedroom needs washing. Although she has spilled her water bowl a couple of times and piddled off the pad once, there has been no seepage through the bottom, but it does stain. I'm thinking about making an absorbent pad to fit the bottom of the pen.
Sorry this is such poor video, but I was in a hurry and too lazy to move the pen to better light. But at least you can see what it looks like aside from the photo on amazon.com, and get an idea how big it is in relation to a real dog -- Tallulah weighs just about 4.5 lb now.
