| Tropiclean - Coat products ???? How do they work on Yorkie coat ? What kind of Tropiclean shampoo and conditioners are the best for the yorkies? What spray from them is good for matting ? to prevent matting and to ease/take away those who already are. Please tell me what you think of TropiClean ! I'm thinking of trying this out for my Fido! Excuse my non-perfict english

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | I've used the tropiclean Spa shampoos and conditioners. They smell SO good and leave the coat looking great. I especially like the facial scrub. i have not used the regular tropiclean products or any of the sprays. -- As a detangler/leave in conditioner i like Chris Christensen's Ice on Ice, Nature's Specialty Quicker Slicker, and Cherrybrook grooming spray.

| I've used two of the regular Tropiclean's.... I think Kava and Berry. They do smell very good and I think the berry one was a 'highlighting shampoo' (or maybe it was kava? I don't know) but it did make him really shiny and soft. I found the smell not to last very long though.... like a few hours, and sure he is clean and soft, but I don't smell anything on him. So I usually have to use a spray afterwards. Which, I am obsessed with Italian Pet Spa stuff. I have not tried their shampoos or conditioners yet but their spritzer spray (I got buttermilk and vanilla or something) smells amazing -- like a giant cookie. But I only use Minksheen right now, it's been my favorite.

Do you have silky coat, Razz is silk. For mats I use first my fingers,to spread mat and to see what I am dealing with. Then I use the end of a rat-tailed comb to start separating mat. If the mat is very very bad and near to skin, I place comb right on skin above mat (this is to make sure I don t get near to skin with the Chris Christensen tiny dematter slicker brush. This is to be used to break mat apart. Then back to the rat tail comb end to try again to clear mat out.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | I use some Tropiclean products. The berry shampoo is a deodorizing shampoo, the Awapuhi is for white coated dogs, I don't know about the Kava - what coat it's designed for. I do like the berry shampoo just fine but like others just as well. I love the Spa Fresh facial scrub/shampoo....it smells so good and I think it must taste good too...because even though I try to keep them from it, my dogs will lick at that shampoo on their faces. And, they don't do that with other shampoos.

| Ok The berry shampoo, isnt that a deep cleaning shampoo? is that a normal shampoo or do I have to use another shampoo too along with it or what? Is it enough shampooing twice with berry and then kiwi conditioner? do they make a dematting spray and what is it called ?

Donating YT 500 Club Member | I don't know if the berry shampoo is considered deep cleansing or not, it does a satisfactory job cleaning though with one just one application. Unless you've got a lot of other hair product on the coat, like hair spray, a wrapping oil or some substance that doesn't wash out easily, one application of any shampoo should do the job. Be careful washing too much, you can cause a dry coat by washing away too much of their natural oils. You can make a detangling spray by watering down any hair conditioner. Just use a small amount of hair conditioner in a spray bottle, fill it with water and shake. Or, Crown Royal makes a very light detangling spray that I like. You can also use corn starch to help get out mats. Sprinkle a little cornstarch on the mat, work it through with your fingers and then brush or comb out. Do this on dry hair only though.
