| Hi and welcome!!! I've traveled five hours with mine and they did fine. I would just make sure you stop plenty of times to get out and walk her/him and go potty. Take food/water and toys and something to keep her/him entertained like chew toys. Mine sleep a lot in the car

| No, I don't ever crate mine nor do I make them wear carseats. I am not against crates though like I used to be and I know it's not safe to let them roam the car without a carseat but mine just won't stay in it. It was much easier though when we just had Bentley and he would lay in either mine or my husbands lap the whole time so it wasn't a problem. How active is your baby?? He may feel safer in a crate if he is used to that!

| She'll probably do fine. We took our adults and six puppies that were 11 weeks old for that five hour trip this past summer and they did great

| We did a 26 hour one way trip with Teddy in August. Phoenix to Minnesota...He was a great travelor. The only issue that came up was we have a huge fenced back yard where he does his business and we had a heck of a time trying to get him to go in unfamiliar territory. It never even occured to me to work with him on that before the trip. I just thought if he had to go he would go I guess. Other than that we kept his food dishes in the car and had bottled water readily available at all times. We had a crate with but we didn't use it during the trip in the car. I wanted his experience to be a positive one since we make that trip on a yearly basis and since we don't use a crate on a regular basis at home I didn't want to confuse him.

| 5 Days On The Road With Abbie Travel Issues We're vacationing in Arizona for a month. We traveled here from Florida and will be returning in December. We bought a car seat for Abbie and it's WONDERFUL!! She loves it and made the whole 5 day trip in that seat with the exception of some cuddle time here and there along the way. The seat is called "Cozy Car-Go" by Global Pet Products. It can be put in the back seat, has a halter clip and we just added a small blanket for some extra cozy! It attaches to the seat with a seat belt and also to the head rest. It has a pocket in the front to hold her leash and treats and bowls and another water bottle pocket. I recommend it highly! Other than that, I would suggest carrying bottled water for her and of course, plenty of potty breaks. Abbie is used to lush lawn but she would go even on rocks if she really had to go. Good luck! |

| I just wanted to add my two cents worth. We traveled from Austin to Colorado - about 16 hour trip - and Rowdy did great! We've also done several 5 hour trips - and one other 12 hour trip - 24 hours if you count there and back. I echo all the suggestions above and would only add a word of caution for when you take them to potty at a gas station or other area where there is trash on the ground. If your baby is anything like my Rowdy, she may want to sniff and/or try to eat some of the gross things on the ground - like cigarettes or chewing tobacco - which are very toxic to dogs. Or there may be old food or any manner of other gross things on the ground. So, be careful to watch closely when there is trash on the ground - and if there is grass, there may be trash down in the grass that you don't immediately see. So I learned that I had to watch Rowdy for rooting activity. Also, we took Rowdy's crate for sleeping at night, but did not use it in the car - we just let him roam the seat between us - and actually he slept 99% of the time in the car. However, since then, I have purchased a console car seat and he absolutely LOVES it. He is up high and can see out and is right next to my shoulder (I'm short) and so he can give me a kiss or put his head on my shoulder or arm while in the console car seat. However, once again, he sleeps most of the time in the car.
