No Longer a Member | Question About Carriers I have a question about dog carriers...why do they only seem to come in 2 sizes, Small and Large? I can never find any that I really like that come in a medium size. Right now Rizzo fits in the small carriers, but it appears that he is still growing and will probably out grow some of the small carriers that I have purchased. But I doubt I'll ever need one suited for the "large" small dogs as they are usually suited for dogs up to 15lbs. So if they could come up with a medium size in the carriers I love then it would be perfect and I could have avoided purchasing carriers that he will eventually outgrow... Does anyone know of sellers that have a "medium" size dog carrier? I like to have the option of "hiding" him for trips when I have to take a public bus or a train. Or just when I go to the beach and he wants to chill out and not be bothered by strangers (he is still iffy around new people) Is it just me and the sites I browse that don't stock a medium size, or have others noticed this small or large phenomenon? |

| Question About Carriers I just completed a flight last week and read on these blogs about the Sherpa bag, Thanks to AllDogBoots! Here is the link: Sherpas Pet Trading Company Products | Ultimate Pet Carrier I found the bag just perfect, the medium is the right size and my dog seemed quite comfortable in it. You might also check these blogs for very good traveling with your pet tips.

| I wouldn't go off of the "name" sizes, rather I would use the dimensions. A small in one brand, may not be a small in another brand. Whereas a large in one brand may actually be a small in another. If you let me know what dimensions you need, I can help suggest a brand/size, etc. I also wouldn't worry as much as how much weight the carrier can handle unless your dog is the upper end of it. If you need a carrier that is 12" long and holds dogs up to 15lbs, I would be worry about the length rather than the weight. The weight just means that it can hold a dog up to that weight and not break. |

| I agree. When shopping for a carrier I focused on the dimensions more than I did on the size. I've met smaller dogs (in height and length) that weigh a few lbs more than Kaji. Even though he's a certain weight, he doesn't always fit the parameters of that weight in height and length. It makes it more complicated when shopping for clothes too.
