Toys?! Hello all! I am a fairly new mama, I have had my baby for almost a month now, and I just had a quick question! Gimli will not play with his toys! I've bought him ropes, squeekies, stuffed toys, hard toys, balls, everything! And he always wants to play with things he can't have, like a cardboard paper towel roll, blankets, wadded up pieces of duct tape! We will play with his toys sometimes, but he always seems to lose interest after a bit... does anyone else have this problem?

Brandi doesn't play with toys either. I quit buying them a long time ago. She does play games like tag....I chase her, then she chases me. She likes wrestling and hide and seek. That's about it which I'm okay with, she's mainly a couch potatoe like her mama. But we have been doing more fun things lately. Next weekend she's going out on the canoe with me. I have a life jacket already for her. I can't wait!

I am guilty of buying cute toys for both of my puppies. And have replaced a few of their favorites. I read somewhere to leave out just a couple of toys so that the dogs will not feel overwhelmed with having ALOT of toys to choose from. So, now I rotate toys every few days so they won't get bored of the same toys all the time. Both of my puppies have their favorites to play with. I always give them both toys for chewing, for teething. And plush toys with squeakers inside.

| My Marchello does the same thing. We bought him balls, chewing toys, squeakers, the whole bit. He rather play with my socks, toilet paper, boxes, anything he's not suppose to have.

Dolly used to be the same way when I got her, about 2 months ago. But everytime I caught her with something she wasn't supposed to have I told her NO and then gave her something of "hers" to chew on. Whenever I get anything new for her I play fetch with it so she knows it's hers. After 3 or 4 weeks she caught on. Thank goodness, because I have a lot of expensive shoes and I tend to forget to put them away. And leaving just a couple out (1 plush, 1 for chewing, 1 rope) and changing them up helps keep her interested

The 2 toys that my little Bentley enjoys are his kong and a pacifier/bone on a ring teether. He can play forever with them.
