| Got out of his harness onto a busy street! Hi, the title says it all. I live in a large city and this is unacceptable. I dashed onto a busy street and grabbed him with honking, swerving cars, just like in the movies :-( not fun in real life. The harness is snug on him, he just has a way of getting out of it. The style is about like the one shown in the link below. (step-in) < http://www.amazon.com/Rogz-Reflective-Nitelife-Harness-Adjustable/dp/B002DXCU6Y/ref=sr_1_17?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1269468144&sr=1-17> What is the saftest way to walk your dog? Any other kind of harnesses or even collars/ Yikes...i never, EVER want to take this chance again. Thanks. My dog is 7 months, and weighs about 7 lbs. | that must have been scary... my boy broke a leash once and ran into the street... it was awful, I know how you feel! That looks like a pretty good style of harness... did it break, or he just wiggled out? if he wiggled out, it was probably not snug enough.

| hi Armani Man, The way he wiggled out is as follows. I walk my guys on a tandem leash. (otherwise they twist around me). There is a way, that if they engage around a pole, one one each side, that one can exert pressure and wiggle out. To my knowledge this can't really happen without the assistance of a narrow pole. For example a parking meter , or in today's cases, a construction site scaffolding. It has happened once before, but that was while standing around and I was distracted that time. I didn't realize it could happen while actually being in motion, while paying attention too. As soon as I saw the pole I knew to watch out, but watched the very nanosecond he squeezed out. I believe this problem is only presenting right now, because they were in sweaters all winter, and that really tightens up the harnesses. It's my YorkiPoo that is the little Houdini..his hair is very glossy and I think that adds to his ability to squeeze out of the harness. It was awful. We were both shaking. I'm glad your guy was OK too when he got away. Hugging my boys tight this afternoon! |

| We always use a step in harness when we walk Gracie and have never had that problem. Either it's not tight enough or not on him properly. This must have been so scary for you, but I'm happy everything turned out well for both you and your baby.

| I will have to check out the Halti harness. My little girl can wiggle out of a buddy belt if she pulls backwards. She's almost made it a few times now. |
