| Questions/opinions on harnesses Hi everyone.....I'm raising "jaws" and I need to find a new collar and harness. I usually keep a lightweight collar on Duke in the house. Just something to quickly hook him on for a quick potty break. For walking I have(or had) a harness. It was the type that slipped over his head and then buckled under his belly. Both parts were adjustable. I was always afraid to have it to tight around his neck, and it was tricky to get off if too tight. The problem with it being loose was that he would get it into his mouth and chew on it. Well today he was coming to work with me and almost chewed through it in the car. I'm thinking that some kind of step in harness would be better as it wouldn't be around his neck and hopefully he wouldn't chew it. What types of harnesses does everyone else use, or what would you recommend? I notice the step in harnesses say "not for tie out" purposes. I will need something for him when he's outside with us or camping. I'm trying avoid buying two different harnesses, but I will if I have to. Thanks for any advice, Gina

| I have the same problem with Pixie she gets her jaw stuck though in the top. I NEVER leave a harness on when I am not home. So I need one that is easy to put on and off bc Pixie hates harnesses. I have found that she doesn't mind harness vests. I also ordered her a choke free harness from sassy pups. I have not received it yet and am hoping that it will work out. Good luck! It would be so nice if each Yorkie came with it's own personality owners manual!! lol I would of saved so much money on harnesses!!

| Chattiesmom sells really nice step in harnesses that she makes herself. I love how it fits Couver and does not go near his neck.

I also love Jackson's Puppia harnesses and they are good for tie-out, in my opinion. I have a tie-out at my house for Jackson (but I usually stay out there with him anyways) and it works fine for us.

| Rio had a tough time fitting into most harnesses because she's so tiny. I finally found a harness that she can't slip out of, and it's so easy to put on. It's a step-in harness called a Buddy Belt - made out of soft leather and just one buckle to fasten. Now that's all she uses when we go out on walks - she has four of them (black, tan, light pink, dark pink). Here's the link to the company website: Welcome to BUDDY BELT (A Division of Class Art Productions Inc.) |

| Thank you for all the tips. I did make him try a few on in the store the other night. I don't think he was thrilled...lol I found a nice step in on that looks like it will work nicely. I like the fact that it does not have to go over his head at all. Very easy to put on. The real test will be as the weather warms up and we are able to go for walks again. It's been a pretty cold winter and his little feet get cold.
