| Washable Pads care question *sorry mods didnt know where this goes... feel free to move* I recently got some new washable pads from Ryan (love them!) I am washing them in the machine on the handwash cycle with regular detergent... but should I be throwing them in the dryer, or not? Thanks! |

| I love washable pads and while I have not tried Ryan's specifically yet, I find that washing in hot water and drying on medium - works perfect. I just avoid bleach (I use the tide stain remover or add super washing detergent if soiled badly) and I DO NOT use fabric softener in the wash or sheets in the dryer. Hope that helps!

| Here are the instructions that came with mine... Pads can be washed on normal wash/dry settings using hot or cold water. Do not use bleach or fabric softener. Do not overload machine. Pads should have plenty of room to rinse thoroughly. 18x24 size maximum load 8 pads 24x36 size maximum load 6 pads 30x36 szie maximum load 6 pads 34x36 size maximum load 4 pads 34x42 size maximum load 3 pads

I also put the water proof side towards the agitator so that it does not prevent water from penetrating or being squeezed out in the wash - if that makes sense.

| We got our washables from Ryan too & love them! I wash it twice but in the 1st load, I do add a tiny bit of bleach to kill any germs (maybe 2 tbspns a load). Then the 2nd wash gets a little bit of laundry detergent to kill any smell. I put it in the dryer w/dryer balls for about 10 mins & then hang dry. They wash up great!

| Since we're talking abouts scents and smells... I add in some Arm and Hammer (in addition to the detergent) to take care of that and it seems to work well. The person I boight the pads from had recommended this to me.

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | I have Ryan's washable pads for my whelping box and puppies.. and LOVE THEM, I do add a tablespoon of Baking soda when I wash them to kill the smell.. and it works wonderful.. I don't use bleach because mama still diapering the babies and she licks the pads so I don't want her licking any residue that might escape the two rinse cycles.. hugs, Carmen in nj |

I get my pads from Personally Paws, too. I use a little Odoban in the wash to help with the smell. I also presoak them in 20 Mule Team Borax periodically. | |
