| Eye stains How do you prevent eye stains? Have you found a product that works? I try to keep my yorkies hair trimmed and out of her eyes, yet she gets wet, dark stains from her inner eye down the side of her nose! |

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | tear stains can be caused by a few things like hair poking them in the eye, allergies to pollen and outside stuff, allergies to food, certain things in their drinking water, and eyelids that roll in and have the eyelashes poking them in the eye. there are a few remedies on YT that people have found to work for their yorkies. Some use distilled water, some changed foods, some put vaseline on the hair to make it lay down while its in the awkward growing stage, some use apple cider vinegar, etc. do a search and you will surely find some good answers. me, personally, i use Calm eyes to clean the area every day. My yorkie's eyelids roll in at the very corner of her eye. so the hair wicks water out of her eyes and down her face. nothing i can do to stop this, so i just keep the area clean.

| Don't be temped to cut the hair near the eyes short. When it grows out it will just poke right into the eyeball. Grow it out, when it is ling it will lay flat. I check Uni's eyes several times a day and blot with a tissue. It's just a part of having a yorkie. You get used to doing it, it's really not that bothersome.
