| belly bands A while ago we bought some belly bands from a YT member who made her own. They have worked great. I can't seem to find her now though. I emailed her but never got a response. Does anyone know who on YT makes belly bands - would rather give a YT member the business if I can? Thanks!!

| I found this thread and a couple of people said they made their own, not sure if they sell them or not though... http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...ht=belly+bands Also choloeandj, one of the ones who said she made some does sell clothes so I'm sure if you asked she would make some to sell to. Can't hurt asking, I guess. If this doesn't help maybe someone else will know more, I have a female so I don't really have much experience with them.

| belly bands belly bands are a "diaper" for male dogs. They wrap around their body and cover their penis. The belly band gets wet when they try and mark. It is suppose to deter them from doing so becuase they aren't suppose to like the feeeling of wet against their body. They have worked great for our boys. Its helped in training them....instead of having wet pants they are more apt to ask to go outside. But more than anything, it's saved some of my furniture from being marked up.

| The belly bands shouldn't get wet. They're meant to be used with a pad. I use the extra light urine control pads and cut them in half (across not lenthwise). They self-stick to the band and when wet, you throw them away. I wish I didn't have to use them, but it protects my furniture and everything else. Willie will even lift his leg for a leaf on the ground. Most boys will mark if they aren't neutered and if you want puppies you can't neuter. :Puppy: |

| If your boy is actually having pee accidents you should use a pad with them, if he is only marking with it on, you don't necessarily need a pad if the belly band is absorbant. I always thought that you had to use a pad with them too, but then I found out that my mom doesn't use a pad with her male anymore because her boy has gotton to the point where he doesn't full out pee in them, just marks a drop here and a drop there. I put an extra layer of absorbant fabric in the middle of the belly band and it does the job for her male without the pad. If it is for use for a dog who actually pees in them, then a pad would definately be needed. But for light marking you can get away without using a pad. |

| My little guy is driving us nuts marking everything he is now 1 and a couple of months? If we neuter now, will he still mark his territory! Help! I need those belly bands! My husband is about to flip with Miko peeing everywhere. I'm also concerend about when we move, will he mark everything again? I should have neutered him a long time ago, but didn't thinking that I would possibly breed him, but I have changed my mind. THANKS

| chloeandj, What do you use for the absorbent material? I bought some belly bands from ebay and the "absorbent material" actually repelled and made it run down. Now I put a pad on top but it makes it extremely thick since it was already too thick even without the pad. |

| I line them with flannel and put an extra thick square in the middle where his sprinkler would be. If you are using a pad that is too thick, you might want to try a panty liner, or if he is peeing (not just marking) in them, try those extra thin pads made by Always, they are the ones with the center blue strip and they absorb very well without quite so much thickness. You can cut them to the size you need. |
