Everlasting treat Ball Question I just bought the small ELT ball yesterday after reading how so many yorkies from this site liked it. My 4.5 month old sniffed and seemed interested but none of the little treats come out of the holes and she just kind of licked at the ball end treat and didn't know what to think of it. Are the treats supposed to fall out as she plays with it or is she supposed to somehow get them out with her tongue because neither of these is happening. Also the ball is too big for her to really pick up. I am just curious to see what everyone says since this seems so popular. Thanks

Tink loved her Everlasting treat ball. She just chewed at the treat and licked it to death. It kept her occupied for 30 minutes at a crack. She eventually just wore it out with pulling and prying at it. I replaced it with a Kong treat toy and she likes it even better without the treats! She plays with it like it is a ball. Are you using the treats that are made for the ball? They don't fall out - they are make to fit inside the holder, one on each side so that it kind of looks like a ball. It is too big for them to pick up with their moths very well.

Wall-E goes through phases with his ETB. He played with it a week straight when I first got it... then he got bored with it. Then I tried filling it with a different treat every week (Wellness WellBites) and some kibble... then he got more interested in it. One day he'll play with it, another day he won't touch it. Most of the time though, we use it to play fetch and then when he gets tired, he'll lay on the floor and chew on the ball to get the treats out.

Little Mac will chase it around the kitchen and is able to pick up the ETB with no problem and carry it to his crate, but he gets bored with it after a while too.

Tinks Mom, I agree that the domed shaped cap treats that are made for the ETB are expensive, so I just don't put the cap on and then poke some small treats in the middle of the ball- usually something that is stinky with a stronger odor to entice Wall-E to work for it. Usually he is able to use his teeth to get the treats... sometimes I put a cap on though. hope that helps

OK, thanks. I guess it's been quite awhile since Tink had her RTB and I've forgtten how it was made. I do know that she sure enjoyed destroying it that day!
