I have the step-in harness and its been great! The only issue is that my pup tries to bite at it sometimes (most of the time) when I put it on him like an above post stated. Once you get the hang of it, it goes on quite quickly and is very secure when they wear it. It is completely safe and is in no way close to their trachea.

Step-In Harness has our vote!!!

I like the step in harness, but Hot Rod tends to chew on his. I use a vest type of harness. I need to find something for the summer though, his vest is going to be too warm I think.

Is the
Step In Harness
better than the
Roman-Style Harness?
Why or why not?

Lupine® - Small Dog Products

Thanks for your advice

The step-ins are easier to get on and off because they don't go over the dog's head. I would recommend a roman style harness if the dog is going to wear it all day or if it is going to be under a shirt because the straps lay flat. Step-ins clip on top and then have 2 D-Rings that you connect the leash to (one on each side, in case the clip were to break) and they kind of stick up so they are not always as good under a shirt. Step-ins are great for walks. I also think step-ins sit a little lower on the chest - farther away from the neck.

I have Lupine step-ins in 3 patterns on my website: Barkaholics — Harnesses

Those who use and like the step in harnesses... What brand of Step-In Harness do you all have?
Thanks

I vote for step in! I got mine from chattiesmom and it is the first harness that actually fits and Hagan doesn't try to get it off!! Did I mention it's cute too!

Hi, I use the step in, great success with it for over 2 yrs. Would not use anything else. It is so easy to put on, step in & click it at the shoulders and go. Sometimes I leave the harness on inside the house, they don't bother with it.
It's great.

I think this happens when the top strap is too loose.

I've tried lots of harnesses, and I really like the Buddy Belt too, it's safe, it's very durable, made of soft leather, so easy to put on, and it actually looks great. We got the black for Joey, and this is one of my favorite purchases. Here's another link.
