| Furniture I am interested in buying a dog armoire/ wardrobe. The problem is that they are all ssooo expensive. Does anyone have any "hand-me-downs" or a pattern to making a mini wardrobe for my little London. Renee PS I have attached a few files of the ones I like. |

| I borrowed this idea from a gal on another forum because all the armoires I found were too expensive and small. I got two Closetmaid components from Lowes for $35 each. The bottom is a two drawer unit, the top a two shelf unit. You take the shelves out of the one unit and add PVC piping to hang clothes on. I got white with plans to stencil it, but never got around to it. They also come in a light oak, I think. |

| Thanks for the idea. I might just get the top shelving unit. London doesn't have nearly that many clothes yet! If anyone else has any ideas post the as well. All are welcomed.

| You could get a kids one or even one that you have to assemble and paint/finish yourself. I think that is what I will do when we have a bigger house!

| Well, I don't know if you'll think this is too expensive, but I just saw one at Walmart that's on clearance for (I THINK) around $150....it's really nice looking though; it's got a top part for hanging clothes and two drawers below...I'll attach a photo of what it looks like, but the ones I saw were white and they looked really nice. It isn't actually THIS armoire I don't think; it seemed like the top part was taller in the store, but it's very similar to this one.

| I actually have one I do not use anymore. I would be happy to sell it to you but GOSH I have no idea how much it would cost to ship.

| $150 is too much for me. I was hoping to stay under $50. I'm going to walmart and lowes today to see if I can find anything to make one out of. If I don't find anything I will pm you about the one you are selling. How much are you asking for it and can you call and see how much it would be to ship it to NC?

| What about looking at second hand furniture or charity shops, garage sales, ebay etc in your area then just paint it the colour you want? |

| Yeah you could probably spend $20 at a garage sale and get something way better than at Wal Mart... 4 subdivisions in our town are having a garage sale next week and I'll be on the lookout for something like this!

| Ello all! I just went to Walmart and bought a fairly large book shelf for $16! I also bought a tension rod to use instead of the pvc pipe so that I don't have to take the chance of splitting the wood. So I just got an armoire for like $20! YAY me. I will put it together either tonight or tomorrow and post some pics! I hope it works, but now I have to figure out if I should leave it open or put a curtain on it as a door?
