I heard that Greenies came out with a biscuit that has very very tiny pieces of the original greenies in them.
It was these pieces that impacted and killed my dogs - you do as you see fit with your baby but i WILL NOT have a Greenie in my home.

There is a lot of misinformation on this thread as well as some great information. The original Greenies were not 100% digestible and could cause an intestinal blockage. Many dogs had problems and some died. The company revamped its product because the name was still popular, used the name, but the new product is 100% digestible. I think I would have chosen a different name. Some people won't use the new product because they don't trust the company. Raw hides are not 100% digestible either, and could cause the same problems in the intestines as the original greenies. Bully Sticks and other chews that are 100% digestible and won't cause intestinal blockage. All chew sticks should be supervised, a piece could get lodged in throat or mouth, but always look for the ones that say they are 100% digestible in order to eliminate the intestinal blockage problems. Even the ones that say they are digestible except for pieces the size of a grain of rice are dangerous, and many products say this including the original Greenies.

Try dissolving one. I've even tried simmering one to get it to soften. It won't!
Would you eat something with that consistency. Some of those jerky things are the same.

My dog loved the original Greenies, but would'nt touch the "improved" ones. This was before I "wised up"

Being hard to dissolve isn't really bad; products such as this provide great chewing and teeth cleaning action. It is important to look at the packaging and see if they are 100% digestible. If the words aren't there don't buy the product. Whether or not your dog likes the product is another story.

I was web surfing regarding Greenies and there is quite a discussion on the website
"forum.oes.org" regarding them and also discussing digestibility and solubility.
