| What type of brush?? I am a first time Yorkie owner and am puzzled as to which brush is appropriate for her hair since it is starting to get long. I bathe her about 3 times a month (is that too much) when ever her hair starts to stink or looks greasy and I have a yorkie leave in conditioning product however when it comes time to brush her hair I am concerned the brush i have will hurt her but i notice her puppy hair coming out and am afraid that just using the wide tooth comb i have isn't helping the excess hair get removed. I dont want to hurt her but I also want to make sure her coat is in the best condition possible! Thank you!!!

| I recently bought the Chris Christensen 20mm Fusion brush. It was pricey, but I love the results I've seen since I've been using it. It seems to be gentle on their skin. Sissy has a thin coat that doesn't grow much and Angel has very silky hair, but she has a tiny body and her hair is not tremendously thick. I bathe my girls anywhere from every week to every other week. A good shampoo really helps, too. I use Minksheen on Angel and Buddy Wash/Rinse on Sissy. You should also use some kind of conditioning spray berore you brush. Hope this helps.

| We also have a Chris Christensen brush, we have the pocket 20 fusion. I think it was about $40. We are going to start grooming our Yorkies at home and I just bought a grooming video and it also stated to have a slicker brush, so we will be getting one of those as well. We usually spray Ice on Ice before brushing. I think most people bathe their Yorkies every 1-2 weeks generally!

| grooming your yorkie or long hair dogs Hi, I purchased the grooming video from top professional handler Greg Larson and found it very imformative for my shih-tzus. Here is a link for his site. He has videos for yorkies, maltese and other dogs as well. http://www.istaprofessionalhandling.com/videos.html Also you always want to use a pin brush that doesn't have the tips on the ends of the pins because it damages the hair. Here is a link where you can purchase the proper equiptment for your baby. http://www.showdogstore.com/ they have about everything you will need. I do recommend you purchasing the video. Greg Larson is a master at this. He has one of our dogs now showing her so please consider. You may have seen him on t.v. showing dogs at eukaneuba and other televised shows. Thanks so much Melinda Little www.sassy-petwear.com www.mcknightsmajesticshihtzus.com |

| There was a thread yesterday on the same topic, lots of posts. You might try using the "search" feature, type in brushes.
