Animal Smiley 049 Ice on Ice??

Parker gets brushed daily (I think I have missed a few days here and there) His puppy coat seems to be what they call cottony but I can kinda tell with his new fur coming it it might be a bit more on the silky side. Anyways to my question I am currently using Crazy Pet ~ Baby Dog Grooming Spray its supposed to detangle and add shine I don't feel its doing that at all.

With a squirming pup those hard to reach places are starting to mat I am trying so very hard to keep him mat free but today I found a few pretty bad ones, and it really bums me out!

I read up on Ice on Ice is a great detangler and it works wonders, has anyone used it? Have any suggestions on good brushes or mat brushes, I don't mind spending money on good quality stuff for Parker. Money doesn't really matter when it comes to him .

(I added a pic for fun...hehe, and maybe you guys can tell by his coat )

I use Ice on Ice and I love it. I spray that on and I use a comb instead of a brush and it gets the mats out good, it actually keep them from getting mats. I never had any luck with brushes but the combs work best. good luck...he is so adorable.

OMG he is SO cute!

I have been using Ice on Ice for over a year. I use it like genie does, also with a brush as well as a comb. Also, if i run out of conditioner, I use it after baths all over then blowdry.

I think Chris Christensen products are fantastic!

Well we have 2 different combs with the moving (idk whats the word i am looking for)mmm...comb things..hhaa... and 2 different brushes, one with the needle like bristles and a people brush. So I'll try and start using the combs more then the brushes. Thanks a bunch!

First off thanks a bunch, he is my baby, I never knew I could love the way I do for him...

For the Chris Christensen products I was reading his website and I was very impressed myself. But you know these days online anyone can make anything sound good so thats why I bring it to my YT family. Do you happen to use any of his other products?

he is very very cute!!!

my yorkie has a cotton coat. i use a slicker brush on her to help keep the mats out. in those hard to reach places like armpits and belly i keep them shaved down. you can't notice it because its hidden by all the other hair.

If you are having a problem with mats, you probably aren't getting all the way down to his skin. After you brush him, go through his coat with a comb to make sure you got all the mats out. I love the Chris Christensen Buttercombs.

I've got the CC Gold series brush and Fusion brush. I was very disappointed with the Fusion brush, especially for the price. I love my Gold brush, but the gold wears off and again, for that price, it shouldn't.

I've just ordered a Madan pin brush so I'll let you know how I like it. I guess they are mainly sold at shows, but they've gotten rave reviews on the Maltese forum I belong to. They are much cheaper, too, under $20.

Slicker brush, I'll look that one up, as for shaving him, I keep his belly trimmed (here at home) But has yet to go to a groomer. I am terrified to take him Plus he is only 4 months, but I will keep that in mind when I do take him, or start grooming him here. Thanks a bunch!!

I know what you mean...Hannah just went to the groomer for the first time a couple weeks ago and she is almost 15 months old.

Your probably right! The only places he is matted is in his armpit area and on his skinny widdle legs so I will keep that in mind when I am brushing him.

And please do let me know how they work out for you, I am going to go to his site right now and check out the buttercombs! Thanks!!

Well after all the horror stories and all the problems I hear I really have no desire. Plus if I make him look silly, I can laugh about it and get over it. If someone else does it then I'll be pee'd off...haha. So I have been looking into getting trimmers and just doing it myself. I know this puppy hair is going to need to be trimmed soon because I see his adult fur coming though and its a bit different from the puppy hair. Okay I am rambling, I do that a lot...lol.

i groom morgan myself. i got tired of paying $50 a pop for a hair cut. i pay that for myself and i have longer hair and it only takes 1/2 hour, instead of a 4lb dog staying in a cage for 4 hours and less hair being cut.

if you get your own clippers and grooming tools it pays for itself within 3 uses.

Well I think thats what I'll have to do then Plus you don't have to worry about someone else handling your baby. Parker is less the 2 lbs still and I don't think he is going to get much bigger so that SCARES me too. I don't want someone restraining him on his neck or whatever else.
