| Soon to be yorkie mommy. Which items do I need? In the beginning of next year I'm going to be a proud mommy to a little yorkie girl. I almost cannot wait any longer so it kinda helps shopping for her! Which items do you love and couldn't live without? What must-haves do my little girl need? Thank you in advance! This board is really awesome I've already learned so much by browsing and reading! |

| First of all, don't buy her a collar, buy her a harness. They have fragile trachea's and a collar could cause her it to collapse. You'll need the obvious, two bowls, one for water, one for food. You'll need LOTS of toys for her to chew on. At PetSmart they have lots of toys for teething puppies. If you plan on crate training her, you'll need a crate only big enough for her to stand up, move around a little, and turn around. You'll also need a mat or a bed to put in there as well. If you plan on training her to use pee pads, you'll need some of those. As for food, start her off on what the breeder is feeding her, then gradually work her onto a better quality food that you want to feed her so it doesn't upset her tummy. I hope this helps!

| Everything above sounds good. You just need a lot of patience and love.

| I'm soon gonna be a yorkie mum soon also! Isn't it so exciting? Make sure to buy tons of toys and treats. Happy shopping.

I would recommend getting her a harness as well. IF you want like I do you can keep the collar on her with her name tag but just NEVER walk her from the collar - always walk her from the harness. Congrats on your new little one!!

| I think everyone has narrowed your list down. Patience, love, kindness, attention, discipline...are all up there at the top! Good shampoo and conditioner....I like Sheapet and Fur-Butter-Or-Fur-Worse conditioner. Course, I use several different brands of shampoo and conditioner. Baby Shampoo and wipes are good for fast, easy cleaning...great for face!! A small flea comb works well for getting eye gunk off. A small personal trimmer is great to have handy. Great for touch ups on the feet, face, ears, privates, etc. A good comb and brush...I love my 100% boar bristle brush!! We use Missing Link supplement powder in their food in the morning. We feed Cannidea - and it is wonderful. A car seat or carrier or crate that can be strapped in the car. A crate at home (?) we never use one though. Warm blankets, bed, toys (lots of different ones to see what they like), etc.
