| [News] Life Saving Yorkie Honored in Dog Parade UK - A DOG who saved her owner's life after a poisonous gas leak will join a prestigious parade. Yorkshire terrier Poppy Lou tugged at Victoria Shaw's nightie until she woke up at her Rhosymedre bungalow near Wrexham in November. The council house gas fire was leaking deadly carbon monoxide, and would have killed her had it not been for her pet. Now Poppy Lou has been nominated for the Kennel Club's Friends for Life parade on Sunday, March 12, at the NEC in Birmingham. Victoria, 51, said: "If it wasn't for Poppy Lou I wouldn't be here. She is all I have and it is fantastic she is going to take part in the parade." The gas fire was lit all day on Thursday, November 24. Victoria began to feel tired and her eyes started to itch, and she went to bed. Luckily for Victoria, Poppy Lou licked and scratched her face and tugged her nightie until she woke up. Bertie, owned by Gill Stevenson from Aberystwyth, Ceredigion, and nominated by Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, is also in the parade after saving a woman's life. http://icnorthwales.icnetwork.co.uk/...name_page.html |
