| August 12th update from facebook UPDATE FRI AFTERNOON: Just spoke with Jennifer W. at the ARL in Boston. She said no new updates since 8/9...but Foxy is doing well! I guess the wife of the couple she's staying with is a dog groomer, so she has her decked out in bows, and keeps her looking nice! She is going to a playgroup regularly, and her appetite is very good! She enjoys treats. Jennifer told me that the vet managing her care, Dr. Smith, is out of the country next week, but that she'll have a more detailed update when she returns the following week. She was thrilled about our current amount of $840. She said that donations have slowed down a bit since they haven't been airing her story on the news - So let's see what we can do to reach or exceed $1000 by next week! Every $5/$10 donated puts us closer to our goal! Donations can be made securely online, by clicking here: ChipIn: Friends of Foxy Thanks SO much! :-D

| Why every would she keep a dog 14 years and then decide to do this - didn't she love Foxy any more? Is there an update to this story, like how is Foxy doing now. I hope with all my heart the dog is ok and lives.

| Unfrecocking believeable, someone needs to put her underwater for a minute so she can see how it feels. I hate to feel like that, but this is ridiculous.

| I thought I actually read that it wasn't her dog it was a relative's dog and she was caring for her. That woman should never be allowed to care for any animal....ever!!!

| Update from Facebook Friends of Foxy (aka "Just a Dog") HELP NEEDED - No money involved, Can Be Done In Under 10 min! We need people to personalize and send letters to the courthouse before next Monday morning, which means all letters need to go out by Thursday of this week, at least. These letters will encourage the magistrate to give Ms. O'Driscoll the maximum possible punishment allowed by law. It's important for them to see that the public all over... the US is affected by this incident! I have written up a form letter - all that needs to be done is for you to fill in your name, date, etc, sign it, and add any (peaceful/helpful) comments you may wish to, then you can send it to the address on the note. It should take less than ten minutes to do, and costs nothing except a postage stamp. Please send me an email at thedogmother@ymail.com if you'd like to help with this, with the words FOXY LETTER in the subject heading, and I'll email you back an attachment in Microsoft Word format, and Notepad format. Enter your data in the area colored in red (MWORD) , then print out, sign, and send to the given address. file:///C:/Users/Ann%20Proctor/Pictures/Roxy.htm The above link is a picture of Foxy but I am not sure it will work for you because it wouldn't let me save it to my computer so I could upload it here. I thought I would give it a try though...you can try to copy and paste it.

| Just saw this facebook update... Friends of Foxy (aka "Just a Dog") UPDATE: Just spoke to Jennifer at the Animal Rescue League. She said that she spoke to the foster last week, and Foxy continues to do well. She did say that the foster mother has noticed some tenderness in her abdominal area, but hopefully it's unrelated. She has a really good appetite, and all of her vital signs are ok. She will be having her vet appt with Dr. Smith this week, and I will post an update as soon as I hear back. I did find out a little more information re. the background. Apparently, Foxy originally belonged to Ms. O'Driscoll's mother, who has passed away. Her father was keeping her, and she was apparently very important to him for that reason. It's still unclear as to why Ms. ODriscoll had her, but we will know more next Monday after the hearing. The man will not be getting her back, of course, as it's too great a risk to Foxy's safety. I got the court information this morning as well. It will be held at Hingham District Court at 9:30 am (I will be there an hour ahead) 28 George Washington Blvd, Hingham MA. Please PM or email me to let me know if you'll be coming, so that we can plan a meeting place! The director of law enforcement at the ARL will also be there. We are also letter-writing to the Magistrate, expectedly Mr. Ligotti, to encourage him to enforce the maximum penalty allowed by law.

| Somebody needs to drag her into the water! What a horrible kind of person DOES that sort of stuff? At least give the dog a chance of a better home by dropping him of at the local shelter. Shame on you! There's NO EXCUSE for that kind of behaviour, but sadly, our society will just give her a slap on the wrist, because after all 'it's JUST A DOG!"

Yorkie Talker | HOW HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!! And its not JUST a dog! I cant stand people who have this mind set! My friends and family are so accepting of our 3 babies. When we go somewhere to visit, if our babies are not welcome they know not to invite us! We are not coming! How anyone could treat any animal in such a manner is beyond me! They are so trusting, lovable and tiny! They are just babies in fur! I AM OUTRAGED !!!!!! I HOPE SHE IS PROSECUTED TO THE FULL EXTENT OF THE LAW AND MORE! I would say she should do community service at the local animal shelter but obviously she cant be trusted with animals! There's a special place in hell for people like this! Ok. I'll quit venting now! LOL! |

| Look at this Six Flags loses dog rescued from locked car in scorching parking lot - National Animal Action | Examiner.com I could not get this to post as a new thread. Women leaves dog in car at 6 flags. Security removes dog from car to save it. Once feeling better do escapes. Now the owner is made.

| Just curious, what is the maxium punishment and did that lady have any mental health issues? Either way she should be put away in a facility (whether it be prison or a mental institution) for a long time!!! |

| Apparently she was on some medication and under the influence of alcohol...but either way if you are trying to drown a dog you are in need of mental help, I see it as criminal IMO.
