| "it's just a dog" ? After loving her for that long and this sweet little dog being there for her , she can try a kill her? WTF? I do not understand this at all. A dog is pure unconditional love. To destroy it makes no sense at all. The woman has to be absoluteky insane. I hope the courts throw the book at her. Their needs to be tougher punishment for those kind of people. Hell is too good for her.

| Poor sweet Foxy did not deserve this kind of owner and I hope the rest of her life will be filled with non-stop loving from whoever adopts her! The owner needs to be dragged out to sea...an eye for an eye!

| Thank goodness there was a witness to this horrible event that was willing to get involved and contact the police! I can't believe someone could be that cruel. You want to drown yourself, go right ahead! But to do that to a poor innocent baby that deserves nothing but love is totally insane! Hopefully the court gives her exactly what she deserves. Of course one day, when she's judged by the one up above she will get hers! I hope Foxy is being totally spoiled and enjoying a happy life now away from that monster!

| OMG what a shock to read such a thing. I'm sure someone would have taken the dog and loved it. No reason to do anything like that. Horrible! |

| August 8th update from facebook UPDATE: Sorry for the delay everyone, have had a crazy morning! I just got off the phone w/Jennifer at the ARL in Boston. Foxy is doing well. The Dir of Vet Svcs, Dr. Smith, placed her in a foster home w/a couple, and she's doing great there. They said she doesn't have any serious damage from the incident, which is amazing for a dog of her age especially! Apparently the dog did belong to Barbara O'Driscoll's father, who wanted the dog back, but obviously the ARL refused to release her. They have not voluntarily given up custody, despite the woman being charged w/felony animal cruelty...So it will be up for the judge to decide. (Hence, it's so important for anyone who can to come to the courthouse on Aug 29 - and for those who can't, please send letters - I will provide that information later on today!) Hopefully he will not only grant the ARL custody, but also, charge her to the fullest extent of the law. Apparently the woman is "known to police" for other reasons, and may have some mental health issues. Jennifer spoke to the head of the State Police Barracks, and they confirmed that they'd help in any way possible w/the investigation. She said that she'd seen the Facebook page and that everyone is so thrilled with our efforts - so let's keep it coming! Donations can be made via our ChipIn page here: ChipIn: Friends of Foxy as well as on the website, or via mail: Animal Rescue League of Boston, Attn Advancement, 10 Chandler St. Boston MA 02116. (If you do donate via mail or the other site, please email or call me so that I can keep track of the total amount our group has contributed!) They have received about $6,000 in donations from others, and need at least $2,000 more - so let's keep sharing! If all of us donate even $5 or $10, the goal will be met in no time! She confirmed that the VCA has provided discount for the care she received, and that anything contributed is SO much appreciated! I will be phoning her on Friday to update re. the total, and Monday or Tuesday, will be presenting them with the check, a photo of which will be displayed on their website to thank us for our help! Again, please - every $5 or $10 helps so much! We're up to $85 as of the time of this update - let's see how far we can go for Foxy! Thanks again to everyone! :-)
