| [News] Stealing yorkies...a new trend??? As we know from YT, our own members have had their yorkie stolen recently. I saw this on my local news website this morning and thought I'd share it with you. Awareness is the best protection for our furbabies... | I am missing my Yorkie and I know this pain too well. I feel that thiefs who steal pets should be charged with kidnapping as if it were a child. To us pet owners that love our pets, we feel that these pets are our kids. It is such a devastating feeling and the emptiness you feel inside is something so horrible that you truly have to experience it to fully understand it. I have noticed TOO many Yorkies missing in the State of Florida. Maybe because it's warmer here and we yorkie owners take them out more often. I also would NOT press charges, I just want my Cookie back. These people that keep these pets dont understand the heartache they cause each day to that pet's owner Gen |

| New Yorkie Mom Last July we bought our first Yorkie, and so precious he is to us. I was reading about someone stealing Yorkie's in the Flordia area, how sad is that. We never take our dog with us anywhere for fear of someone taking him. Charile (my Yorkie) is 6 months old and weighs less than 4 lbs. He is the most active and fun loving pet we have ever owned. Everyone love him and he really loves people. Charlie doesn't like new areas, he definitly is a stay at home dog. I am just learning about Yorkies and am open to all comments that will help make our Yorkie a happy one. Also I am totally new to this chat/post stuff. Looking forward to hearing from you all............... |

Welcome to YT and to the joys of owning a Yorkie. I too am new to Yorkie ownership - I can't believe that at the end of this month Razzle will have been home with me for 1 year!. It seems like we have always had him. Razzle goes with me everywhere and has lots of friends in lots of places. He is always leashed with me and I never ever leave him unattended. We also have two large dogs and they are very good with each other. Our two large dogs are very protective of Razzle - they don't allow other dogs to bully him. Razzle is very self confident due in large part I think to all the experiences he has had with us. He went camping in the summer, and hiking and swimming. He had a blast! Razzle is now getting older and he emulates his older bro and sis. He has stopped laying on my lap so much - because the big dogs lay at my feet. Right now as I am writing this I have our three dogs laying over my feet. I think that we can fall into being over protective of our little ones. It would be awesome for you if you can walk him and expose him to lots of new experiences. Going to the pet store is a great one for the little puppies. Razzle is about 6lbs now and probably at his full adult weight. We also have started agility and obedience training with him. His Mom has many working titles and we see that his personality is much like hers. Have a wonderfull Holiday season

| Oh so sad... a friend of mine sells dog hats at the flea markets here in florida.. she has a harness on her dogs.. she has a lock on the harness and a chain is locked at the stroller.. they sit on the table..when I first met her I could not believe she has to go to this... but after time I sure have learned it is bad here and can see this.... I do not take mine with me often neither.. I feel so bad for these people... and also think harder charges should be given a dog theif... |

| This is so sad. I have kept up with Gen and what she is going thru and now this poor lady having to deal with the same thing. I honestly can't even imagine how life goes on...my husband and I would have a hard time just breathing without our little Lexi. She is pretty small and we do take her everywhere with us. Lucky for us she is not to outgoing to anyone but us so I am always holding her...on a good day eating wise she weighs about 4 lbs. My thoughts and prayers are with you as with Gen and Cookie for your furbabies to be returned to their homes where they belong. Hugs Cheryl & Lexi |

| I know between Cookies2's story and the fact that burglaries are up in general makes me make sure we set our alarm when we leave the house. It's awful that someone takes someone's pet. What has it come to?

| So Sad This is so sad, Hope she get him back , I look at my furbabies and just get so sad , that someone will just take someones pet. It's like taking your child or a member of the family. They can have any thing in my house , I can replace , but not my pets. Hope someone has the heart to return him. bark@ulater !!!!! manina, mileymax |

| People are so terrible. I can't even believe some one would do that. Even at school my friend had a $300 camera and giftcards and money (she forgot to take it out from shopping the day before). It was stolen, along with $60 from another friend. In leadership, and those are the good kids. It just shocks me how terrible some people are.

| My wife and I take our Yorkie, Marley, with us when ever we can, she has been camping, to reletives and friends houses, to the pet store and Home Depot, if we are going some place where we cannot take her she is locked in the house. She brings us both so much joy I dont know what I would do if something happend to her. I have always had big dogs this is the first small dog I have ever owned and she stole my heart the first time I saw her. I get ribbed all the time by my brother in laws and other friends about the "sissy dog" but what is really funny about it is that all the guys doing the ribbing are loving on her when she is around, it is really hilarious to see these big guys being taken over by a 6 lb little princess. |
