| Thank you for sharing this beautiful story. I got goose bumps reading it. I've always believed that some dogs are much more compassionate and intelligent they they are given credit for. This story was so touching.

| I so wish I could devote my life to animals and dogs! They are truly amazing beings and are here only to survive and love. I feel all animals are misunderstood. This story is amazing! I've told my fiance and my parents that if ANYTHING ever happens to me where i'm in a hospital for the rest of my days or if I die, please take bailey to the hospital or wake for his closure. I can't think of him just sitting there sad not knowing what happened to me or thinking I left him!

| dogs do grieve Yes, animals do grieve. My yorkies Sadie adopted a little black kitten and mothered it for months on end and one day i received a knock on my door from the little boy down the street. He stated that he watched her kill the kitten that she had tossed the kitten around and hit its head off the building. Well I went over and picked up the kitten and rushed it across the road to the vet. It was still alive but it was no dog that did this Linda said. Needless to say the kitten had to be put down. Afterwards, she said that someone had beat its head in. I went home and baried the kitten. When Sadie went to look for her kitten and couldn't find it she cried and searched every where. It got so bad that she quit eating. I called all around trying to find a black kitten every where and no luck. So I took her to and animal shelter and I let her pick out another kitten that she liked. The people there looked at me as though I was nuts but that was mybaby and Iwould do anything to make here happy again. And that I did she mothered that kitten and to this day her and that kitten sleep and eat together and are always together. By the way we found out that the little boy killed the kitten because he was brought up that black cats are bad luck and to kill everyone that he sees. |

| When I got the rescue dachsies, Nutmeg, Cinnamon and Ginger in 1998, Cinnamon was really bad with the heartworms. The last day she was on this earth I rushed her to the vets, and I had to leave her there so they could do what they could for her (I was hoping she would get better). Later that evening Nutmeg was very restless, she was actually missing Cinnamon. I had to take her to the vet's office just so she could see Cinnamon. Once she saw Cinnamon she calmed down. Unfortunately Cinnamon didn't live through the night, the vet called at 5am to let us know Cinnamon had left us. Nutmeg actually went through a grieving period for quite a while. Dogs do grieve, they have feelings. I remember the story of Greyfriars Bobby: Story Of Greyfriars Bobby

| This is a truly amazing story. Thank you for sharing. I'm sorry to hear about your husband, but this just proves that dogs have feelings and they will stick with you no matter what. |
