I will never understand this. I hear it on Animal planet, read about it
like this article. Why should the owner have anything to say about it
at all? Take the poor dog's away and fine her! Period!
Heaven knows she made a small fortune off the pain and suffering
these animals went through to get her that $.

Dosen't want to give them up, is the law NUTS!
Watch, I bet you they release at least some back to her. It happens
every time. When will our government understand that dog's
have feelings and need love not abuse. When I hear that a dog
has food, water and a roof over it's head so that is all that is
required by law but lives in filth, abuse and loneliness it
just drives me up the wall! Our laws need to be changed to protect
the well being of all innocent animals.
They protect the alligator who can eat you but our domestic animals
get so little protection from our government it makes me sick!
Geez I didn't even have my 3rd cup of coffee and I'm wired up.
I just can't tolerate reading crap like this. They make it look like
they are doing a good deed by rescueing these poor animals only
to give them back at another time. I hope this is not the case
here!
THANK YOU! I agree with you all the way.!

Please keep me posted on the possible Adopt A Thon, I will definitely go and get one or two. I live only 2 hrs from there, and have been checking the Hillsborough Shelter daily for yorkies even prior to hearing of this. My heart goes out to all these precious babies.

I will! I am going to try and get some more information. If you come up, maybe we can get together!

You know what's funny? When I first joined YT, I chose that little "group Hug" as part of my signature. If you look at it, I'm hugging 5, but right now I have just three Yorkies....mmm, see I'll have to take two, LOL. I'd say that's a pretty good "sign" of what I have to do, right?

Default What do you think?

I am thinking about getting another Yorkie for a companion for my Snickers. I live in Ct though and don't want the poor dogs to be any more traumatized??

Default Wonderful news!

Wanted to let everyone know some wonderful news!!! I work for a VERY large nationwide law firm (over 450 attorneys and countless staff) and I just got approval to host a "denim day" to raise money for these yorkies!!! It is taking place on June 26 (which happens to be Bring your Dog to work day!) and I am asking a minimum of a $5.00 donation and then the employees who donate get to wear jeans on that day! Every cent of the money collected is going to help this yorkies. I thought everyone would love to know!

Wish me luck!

xoxo--Sarah & Maddy

How awesome! These poor babies need all the help they can get. It makes me so sad to think any human could do this to a dog but then someone like you renews my faith in the human race!

Wink Yorkies need our help

What a wonderful idea! I have just gotten off the phone with Officer Davis from Hillsborough County Animal Services. Here is what she told me.

The mother/son that were busted have retained an attorney to fight to keep these Yorkies. God only knows why. If they hadn't fought to keep them, the babies could of been up for adoption within the week, but with the "fight on", it could be several weeks until they are adoption ready if at all.

Hillsborough County residents are given first choice. If there are any left after county residents have had a crack at adoption, then outside residents (like me in a different county) will be able to adopt. I have downloaded my application for adoption and getting a letter from my vet stating my other three are spayed/vac/licensed, so I will be ready if one or two are able to come my way. In the mean time, Officer Davis says it's going to take alot of $ to take care of these little darlings. Quite a few are sickly, parasites, mal nourished, etc. So......
I have a invitation to every YT member to send $1.00 (or more) if you're able to, any amount helps. Here's how to Donate:

Make check or money order payable to: Hillsborough County Animal Services and in the memo area write: Donation Fund-Yorkies, Yorkie Talk.com Member

Mail it to: Hillsborough County Dept of Animal Services
P.O. Box 89159
Tampa, Fl 33689-0402

LET'S SHOW 'EM WHAT WE'RE MADE OF!!!!!!

THANKS IN ADVANCE

This is exactally what I mean. These two horrible people should be told:
You had your chance to care for these helpless dogs and you failed.
Sorry, they now belong to us! Period. Here's your fine, pay now or
go directly to jail!
No instead the law will pussy foot around for another couple weeks when
these little ones could be in a home getting the care that's due them.
Throw these two in jail. How dare they be allowed to get an attorney
and possibly get these poor animals back.
Makes me sick!

Your awsome for doing your part to help these poor little ones.
