| Someone, somewhere in the organization should have a clue or a way to investigate and get to the bottom of the problem before they are out of business! Yes, I know it is very expensive, ordeal but if this is what is suspected, I do think the vet should obtain a sample of the pet food from the owner and send it to the lndy lab instead of the owner. I think it would give more validity to the situation that ,"this pet's illness/death may have been caused by this "brand" food, lets find out!" It still won't cost anyless........ All kinds of scenarios could be involved with any pet food that has gone bad, whether it was made bad out of neglect, ignorance or on purpose. Where it was stored before it got sold to the owner, or where it was stored once it got home and fed to the pet. The lab can help place the blame or take it away from any of those situations. |

| Well I also don't know if this is true or not, but, I will tell you this. Ciera had been eating Nutro natural choice lamb and rice small bites ever since she was old enough to eat adult food. She is almost 4 now and never had a problem, until the last bag we bought. She started vomiting periodically, not every day but at least twice a week and sometimes several times when she did. It would either be yellow bile or chunks of food. I thought at first she was getting into something else (she is not fed table food at all). I also started noticing she was going potty ALL the time, she was constantly at the door even when she had just been out 5 min before. Everytime she would squat to pee. She was also drinking alot more than she normally did and seemed very very thirsty. I couldn't figure out what was going on and just so happened to be browsing the internet and found the thing on consumer affairs about NUTRO. Some of the complaints were just like Ciera was doing and so I immediately switched her to another brand and ever since switching her, she has been doing fine. No more going out every 5 min, no more drinking excessively, and no more vomiting. I will have to say I am glad I switched before something more drastic happened. JMO

| I know their cat food had a recall. It's posted on their own website but it doesn't say that it's due to any sicknesses. NUTROŽ Premium Pet Food for Dogs and Cats

| I am not saying it is the food, it could be a lot of things. We don't buy Nutro food of any kind except for the treat. I have had no real problems because of it. Sometimes she does get sick, with the bile and diarhea. I see no connections between the treat and her sickness. But our vet does not find any real problems when she is sick either. My dog will eat nearly everything she puts in her mouth even at the age of 2 years plus. She will eat other dog's poo, her own, bark,(tree kind) moss, stuff the lawn mower has spit out. I have to keep after her, keep the yard raked up. We make sure to rake up mushrooms too as most of them would make her sick or kill her. Our outside cat brings her birds and mice too. She has learned to defur her stuffed toys due to watching the cat with her technique! Birds drink from the dog water dish on the back porch, (birds were pooping on the porch too,she had to taste those too) so we made another one out by the bird feeder and that has helped. Dogs can get sick for all kinds of reasons cause they will eat stuff other than what we give them. Fenced yards or not we have to be vigilant! |
