[News] Ollie goes home Ollie goes home 30/12/2008 10:18 - (SA) Melissa Nel, Die Burger Cape Town - A Yorkshire terrier from Diep River was reunited with her owners after being missing for eight months after a motorist found her next to the road. "I thought she was dead and then she suddenly looked up at me," said Abdurraqeeb Sadien, 21, from Parkwood Estate near Grassy Park. He found Ollie on Sunday on the Skaapkraal road near Philippi. Sadien stopped the car to move Ollie out of the road. "All the motorists drove around her and no one would stop." The little dog was anxious but not underfed. SPCA spokesperson Lamees Martin said they examined the nine-year-old Ollie and saw that she had been fitted with a microchip with identification. "That is how we were able to determine that Ollie was reported missing eight months ago and who her owners were." Ollie's family was delighted to have her back. "We were scared that we would never see her again," said Jane Connolly-Volbrecht. - Die Burger Ollie goes home: South Africa: News: News24 |

I know first hand that micro chipping does work...just last week while waiting @ the Vet's for my Foster Yorkie, Rocky to be seen...in comes a young lady with a Chocolate Lab that she found wandering and brought him in to have the Vet's office to scan him for a micro chip and guess what??? He was micro chipped and a reunion with the dogs owner was arranged! :D |
I'm so glad that they got there baby back. It must have been horrible when the couldn't find there baby. |
