| We're here to promote responsible breeding and ownership and with that comes a responsibility to know who you're doing business with and what is behind your dogs, whether pets or for breeding and showing. Fortunately for the dogs, most people have to be more careful than to hand over upwards of $3000 for a dog with no health guarantee, no papers, and whose parents you haven't seen. While it's true that most of the published info on Denise is on Steve Glass' site, most if not all New England breeders have had clients with stories to tell of their encounters with the lady from Sutton. Sadly for the dogs, the evidence is overwhelming that most of what she sells is brokered, and what makes her most offensive is that she lies about it "raised by hand the old fashioned way" if that statement makes any sense. Never mind, there will always be puppy mills and people out there to support them. The more time I spend with my dogs the less I like people. |

| what are you talking about? Quote:
I ask again - have any of you who are criticizing actually been there instead of just re-digesting and recirculating stories of other people? I used to live in Ma. but spent most of my life lin another northeast state. Where I am, if someone was "known" by the animal loving community to be doing this, some passionate animal rights activists would make it a cause and get them exposed and/or shut down. How is it that she has been able to operate for 20 years and it is so widely known that she fraudulently representing her business? | |

| Stratton: Nobody is criticizing you.....as long as your had a good experience we Denise thats all that matters....you asked before if what she did was like a puppy mill and i gave you "my opinion "..i was trying to be helpful not rude...like i said i dont know her...ive never met her and most of us on her hasnt either...but its really hard not to make jugdements on a person when you read about how someone lost their baby just after a few months....Granted nobody knows really if these complains are true...but you have to understand where most of us are coming from..Please dont get offended by what people are saying, including myself...you, yourself shouldnt be the one, anyone should take it out on. |

| In order to make a living by selling dogs, you have to cut corners somewhere. Did your puppies parents have any health testing done? Did you see documentation? Was his liver tested before you brought him home? What food does this breeder feed? Did she provide you with any vet references? Apparently she doesn't show her dogs. All those things costs big bucks and cut into profits. I personally believe that someone who runs a dog breeding business can't have completely good intentions. If you are relying on the money, wouldn't it be tempting to breed a female one more time even if she really should be retired? Wouldn't it be tempting to get two litters a year from another female b/c her pups bring in a higher amount? Wouldn't it make it more likely that you would end up with a puppymill set up? Look at Hollybelle Maltese. That breeder started off with good intentions, she even showed, but in the end the money corrupted her. I believe something like 500 dogs were kept in cages in her garage. |

| What scares me is that there will be a big rush to "buy" whatever breed they finally pick. We know the usual outcome, the novelty wears off, then it's off to the pound which probably is already over crowded with pets being turned in by owners that can not "afford" them anymore as described in other posts found on YT (or was it Petlovers). |
