No Longer a Member | [News] Woman returns Yorkie puppy to owner, gets no reward By CHRISTINA DeNARDO Palm Beach Post Staff Writer Friday, November 07, 2008 PALM BEACH GARDENS — Louie, the 10-month-old Yorkie who was stolen along with his owner's loaner car earlier this week, has been reunited with his owner. A woman claiming she knew who the car thief was and Louie's location called the pet's owner, Jennifer Aguilar, Friday afternoon claiming she could get her dog. Aguilar, who placed a quarter-page ad in The Palm Beach Post offering a $5,000 reward for the dog's return earlier this week, said the woman saw the ad and wanted the reward money. The two met at a West Palm Beach restaurant Friday afternoon, and the woman handed over the dog. But Aguilar did not have the cash on hand so the two women and the yorkie got into Aguilar's car and drove to a bank in Palm Beach Gardens. Once inside the bank, Aguilar told the teller about the situation and the teller advised her not to hand over the money and then called the police. "The cops won't let me give her the money," said Aguilar. "I feel bad because I really wanted to give her the $5,000, but being that she is a link to the crime it might interfere with the investigation." The woman told Aguilar that she was going to split the money with the people involved in the car theft, which netted the thieves thousands of dollars in property . Aguilar said she had left a $3,000 Louis Vuitton purse containing $2,000, a pair of $600 glasses and a $400 dog leash. Video of Theft |

| WOW! Sounds like hey planned it really well. Someone happens to know the people who stole the car and pup and will just happen to split the money? Smells fishy to me.

| I don't get it. Maybe I read it wrong. The woman who called to say she knew where the dog was showed up with the dog?? And she said she was going to share the reward with the car thieves? Does that make sense, or did I read it wrong?

| Hmm maybe I am reading this wrong but it certainly doesn't read that the owner is to smart either...it took the bank teller to tell her not to hand over the $$$ and now she is stating she wishes she could give her the $$$..

No Longer a Member | I think the owner was trying to do what she thought was honest, she posted a reward for her baby back ( no matter how much it cost) and she got him back so i guess she thought she owed the reward. I think I would have done the same if the kidnappers wanted the reward for my baby back. |

I guess I'm just a really good person, but I would feel like scum for excepting $5000 just for helping someone get their baby back. $50 or $100 bucks if they really insisted would be fine, but not $5000. Anyone else? Bottomline I'm glad she got her dog back and I hope she learned her lesson. Never, never, never leave your purse in your car where people can see it. I don't leave anything worth any kind of money out. That includes my iPod, cell phone, etc. The same goes for expensive little dogs like Yorkies. Criminals know how much these dogs are worth. They can easily resell them or ransom them. Last edited by Harley_chik; 11-10-2008 at 11:40 AM. | |

| I always lock my car at the gas station, no matter what. Maybe it's just the west Texas area, but it there always seems to be a lot of iffy looking people around at most of the stations. It doesn't take much effort to stuff your purse under the seat or throw a coat over it. Leaving the car door open is practically serving it and everything inside up for thiefs, not to mention her dog could have jumped out and been injured. |

| Thank God that she got her baby back but it's really dumb on her part. She has more money than sense and I bet she won't do that again. People like that don't think like we do.
