Puppy Mill Bust Leaves Dogs Homeless Posted: Aug 21, 2008 06:55 AM Updated: Aug 21, 2008 06:58 AM http://kotv.images.worldnow.com/images/8876776_BG1.jpg The neglected dogs are being housed in an Ardmore facility. http://kotv.images.worldnow.com/imag.../pxl_trans.gif [SIZE=2][COLOR=#000000] ARDMORE, Okla. -- More than 80 dogs were rescued Monday from a puppy mill in Marietta. Twenty-five of the canines were sent to a shelter in Texas, while the rest were transported to Town and Country Animal Hospital in Ardmore. The multiple breeds of dogs all suffer from health problems. "Emaciated, dehydrated, they could be full of heartworms," Scott Sutherland of Southern Oklahoma Animal Resources said. One of the worst cases the volunteers have seen is Faith, a hairless, thin and pregnant cocker spaniel. to read the whole story you can visit NewsOn6.com - Tulsa, OK - News, Weather, Video and Sports - KOTV.com | Puppy Mill Bust Leaves Dogs Homeless

| Disgusted Okay, I have absolutely no sympathy for people who abuse animals. People caught running puppymills and the like should be sentenced harshly -- it would be great to put them into the very conditions they imposed on the poor animals, but that'll never happen (darned 'treatment of prisoners' rules!!!). There are so many atrocities committed against animals -- we need a justice system that takes animal cases seriously. The problem is that, most often, animals are seen as possessions, objects, rather than living beings with emotional needs as well as physical needs. Until that view changes, not much will be done. It just makes me sick. Heaven help the person I'm ever on a jury to convict for animal cruelty!!!

| Criminals I don't think any criminal in his right mind would elect to be tried by cruelty for an animal violation. Animal lovers would crucify him!! |
