| It really is sad! I just quit obedience training because there is a pitbull and a boxer there and their owners can barely hang on to them. I don't want to put my baby at that kind of risk so we quit.

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | Danger Danger no wonder they want to ban pitbulls.. maybe they SHOULD be illegal to own.. its just getting worse because the bad owners outnumber the good ones.. pitbulls are getting out of hand.. too many people are breeding them all of a sudden.. its like a status symbol ... like a cadillac, or gold jewelry. too many stupid people with these pitbulls.. it is very dangerous.. i would not hesitate to carry a gun if i had one in my neighborhood... jmo |

| It's terrible how many people own vicious dogs and don't do anything about it. If you own a dog that is aggressive, get it properly trained, and keep the risk minimal! I'm sure many of these attacks could've been prevented.

YT Addict | Agreed for crying out loud havent they ever heard of ceasar millan! He works wonders. Maybe before they buy the dog they should have to take his training classes. |

| Atleast try something right! I posted in another thread today about my moms boxer, he's aggressive, but my parents are doing everything they can to help eliminate this, started with training, now he's seeing specialists and on medicine and they take every precaution there is to prevent any attacks. Yes it's a lot of work, but a dog is a huge committment, not just the 15years the dog will be with you, but the good and bad that the dog already has is a committment to. People have to take responsibility and if they get an aggressive dog, DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!

| bad owners, mean dogs Hi, There are LOTS of Pits in and around my town. On my block alone there are 5. I have to admit only one makes me nervous while the others are very friendly to dogs and people. There is also a pair of doberman pinchers across the street who are the sweetest dogs (other than my own) that I know. Therefore, in my experience, it really IS the owner and not the breed. That is not to say that some breeds don't need more training and the right upbringing than others might, and honestly, if there was a strange pit running around I wouldn't approach it when I might approach a dog of another breed. The only actually aggressive dog in my very dog friendly neighborhood is a 3lb chihuahua. I thing the biggest problem is that some people DO use their dog as a status symbol and think that if they have a tough/mean dog that makes them tough, but in reality all it really does is prove that they are stupid. |
