I have the number 1-3 dogs here....2 Labs, 2 Yorkies and 1 German (course, the big dogs were all rescued and LilyGrace was from a rehoming situation.

hi from Joan....sorry I've been absent, I've been ill. But I have some great news!! We going to be bringing a new yorkie home soon. I'm buying a yorkie from a wonderful friend who breeds yorkies in Georgia!! So now our little yorkie girl Chiffon will have a new little girl to play with!! I'm so excited! We can't pick her up for a couple of weeks but wow......

O no. If a puppy is CKC registered instead of AKC is that a bad sign?
Like I've said before, Xavier was a present, and I didn't get to talk to his breeder. The breeder told my mother-in-law that X was "registered" and when I got the papers I saw that they were CKC. Do you guys think she was a puppy mill broker??? I'm so worried...

Yorkies should be number 1!!!, We also have 2 Brittany Spaniels but they are not very popular so I don't expect them to make the list. As for as the lab being number one, it does not surprise me but I do find it a little disappointing, there are a lot of other very good sporting dogs out there. Plus in the midwest labs have been popular for so long there has been a lot of bad breeding so unfortunately if you look at the shelters they are full of labs.

If you check out the new list on the AKC website, Yorkies are now number 2 in the Numbers Registered last year! Woo hoo! More folks are finding out about our smart little guys! Its the first time in a many years that a breed has climbed that far so quickly

I have 3 Yorkies and 1 dachshund, so I made the list twice too. I believe dachshunds were number 7. But they are all our babies, no matter what number they are. We love them all. Can't live without them.
