| Best Food for Clean Teeth? I've been feeding my Cooper Authority Harvest Baked dry food for about a year, but his teeth still have tarter build-up, and I don't want to get him put to sleep (to have his teeth cleaned) again -- I hate to have him go through that!! What is the best food to keep his teeth clean? But also still a good food? Thanks everybody =)

| A raw diet is the best thing for their teeth. You'll normally not have any tarter build-up with a raw diet

| Hi! As far as I know, there is no kibble that will keep their teeth clean. As MyFairLacy mentioned, a raw diet, is supposed to keep their teeth clean, but your dog needs to be 100% healthy in order to do something like that. Other than that, dog's teeth need to be cleaned with a toothbrush or a baby finger toothbrush and some doggie toothpaste or you can use a product like Petzlife Oral Gel. We don't expect to eat crackers and cookies to keep our own teeth clean, so we shouldn't expect a dog's teeth to stay clean with kibble. They need to be brushed

| Thanks for the suggestions. He refuses to let me brush his teeth -- I've tried everything!! What else could I feed him? I like the Petzlife idea

| I have mine on blackwood, which is a good food..When my 5 year old yorkie went in for her tumor removal, they said they were surprised her teeth looked as good as they did..I also give them the greenies(new and improved) that helps with the plaque..and they love them |

| In addition to feeding raw I hear that feeding them green tripe is really good for cleaning teeth.

| I put Suzie's tartar control in all my fur kids' water. I have had many compliments on how white Gracie's teeth are. My cat had a major dental cleaning a year ago. I started him on the Suzie's shortly after that and this last visit he had NO build up on his teeth at all. http://suziestartarliquid.com
