| Good News for Yorkies w LP!! ....my yorkie is 9 yrs old and was diagnosed w LP at one yr old.....both back legs...one worse than the other.......didn't seem to limit her other than no agility classes....went on raw diet (at 2 1/2 years old) which is naturally rich in gluco/condro.....LP symptoms showed up at 5/6 yrs...put her on gluco/condro tablets for awhile.....last winter she had troubles getting up after sleeping and also began running on only three legs w other one tucked up....put her on gluco/condro again (this basically lubricates the joints and gives comfort).....however yesterday the vet put her on a homeopathic ointment called "ligament repair" that actually binds the ligaments in the knee caps and prevents surgery..........he said people usually have several surgeries on their dogs and then go to a homeopathic vet for treatment.....he said it should be the other way around....surgery should always be the last resort..... |

| Now can you only get this from a homeopathic vet or can you get it from a regular vet?? Babybear has LP and has gotten worst since he can not walk. I hear and feel them pop when I walking with my hands and I am hoping the they will get better. But if this ointment works maybe I can order some of that.

| ..........it could be the equine ligament because he is a country doctor and works w horses as well...I'm sure you can only get this from a homeopathic vet....regurlar vets get all their medications from the drug companies...if you don't have a homeopathic vet mine charges $40 for a consultation fee by phone and then can supply you w the ointment after that....by law you have to have a consultation visit or consultation by phone.....if anyone is interested you could PM me and I will give you his name and number....I'm sure you could call first and inquire about the consultation call before you commit to any payment....that way you could get a feel for if you want to work w him....what did your research on the equine ligament say?? Did it mention anything about LP?? |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I'm finding Arnica Ointment (great herb) and "Ligament Drops": http://www.herbsmd.com/detail/arnica-ointment-3292.htm http://www.holisticanimalmedicines.c...8e9da4440aede7 (the 2nd site has all kinds of good stuff, if you "back out" to more products)

| .......sorry I shouldn't have called it an ointment.....it's a liquid in a glass bottle w an eye dropper....few drops daily orally.........it is his own formula so there are no ingredients listed because it does not come from a drug company....maybe other homeopathic vets have something similar....I'm not sure of the cost because I also got one of the kids neutered so he did not charge me for the my other kids visit, the ckup or the ligament repair.....I wish I could say that millee is a testimony for it but she just started it a few days ago and she has not really shown any major discomfort for months so I can only attribute that to the natural gluco/condro in the raw diet and putting her on the gluco/condro tablets periodically........the vet told me of several testimonies of dogs using the ligament repair and how it dramatically changed their lives so maybe you could do research and look for testimonies....I am putting her on it now so I do not have future problems as she gets older....gotta go..........be blessed! |
