| A "whole lotta" poop! Ok, being new to this breed, this may be a stupide question. Carl poops at least 4 times a day. This seems a bit much to me. I am feeding him Nutro Ultra puppy lamb and rice. Is this the cause? I was under the impression that twice a day is normal and that the poop would be small and compact. What's reality? |

| I think that they vary a lot and of course it does depend what you feed them - can't help with opinions on the food as we don't have it here in Wales. Gizzie will be a year old soon and she goes about 4 times a day too whereas Gypsy Rose aged almost 2 (who is fed on the same food exactly) only goes twice. I think that Gizzie has cut it down to 3 times recently though!! She has a sensitive stomach and I have to be careful what I feed her - wondered if your baby has? You could try a different food maybe? Ana xx |

| I had a POOP post a long time ago,, cause I thought Bailey was GOING way too much,, but I guess hes fine,, He is 1 now and he goes 8am, 12pm, 5pm, and about 11pm. Usually about 4 times a day,, but it varies,, sometimes more sometimes less, I have his food down all the time, and sometimes he eats alot, sometimes not at all... But, at 13 pounds I'm not too worried!! ha LOL

| Jo eats Innova puppy food and he goes 2 times a day...sometimes 3 but not very often. When he does go it's small, compact and no offensive odor. It was explained to me that when they're on a good food that doesn't have as many fillers they absorb more nutrients from it so there isn't as much waste. I leave the dry food down all the time and he gets Wellness canned puppy food mixed with dry 2 times a day. |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | lol...I love poop posts ! I would think as long as he's going and it looks normal - LET him poop his little heart out and don't worry too much ! That SHOULD slow down as they grow and eat less - puppies can poop alot that's for sure. |

| Thanks so much for your replies! I had been considering changing foods to Innova or Wellness. I haven't decided between the two and it may just come down to a matter of which one is easier to get. I'm hoping that it will cut down on the amount of poop and the smell(!). I've also noticed that his poops seem a little "grainy". I'm looking forward to the days of longer bladder control and compact poops! |

| I think it is different with all dogs. Maggie is now 4 months old and has never gone more than twice a day. When we brought her home at 8 wks., it was still twice a day. Her schedule is wake up and Nite Nite poo times.

| Brutus aka "the poop machine" will be 6 months in 5 days and he goes 3 or 4 times a day. At first it concerned me but they're "normal" poops. He only eats Nutro Max dry with some treats thrown in.

| Carl is 12 weeks. It's glad to hear that he is normal. I keep looking at his tiny little body(2.5 lbs) and thinking, "where is all that coming from?" |
