Losing Hair!!! and ringworm getting worse Hello everyone, My little girl bebe's skin is getting worse. Shes losing hair on her tail and on the back of her rump. It started to thin out and now its getting pretty bare. and on top of that im finding more, what it looks like ring worm spots. clumps of dry skin with hair attached to it and flaking off around her eye and around her head and body... along with that... the rest of her body is flaky and dry, very dry all over. Im really worried and dont know what to do, I cant afford any more vet bills. I just feel really awful because her skin condition is not getting any better. I think it may be allergies and ringworm. but who knows. I am looking forward to some more feedback. Thank you, Bebe and Mom.

Hi , I have no experience in this area, but my vet has mentions certain thing to use ,our puppy requires treatment for . I did a search on the internet and found these two information sites for you. http://search.netscape.com/ns/boomfr...2Fringworm.htm http://search.netscape.com/ns/boomfr...s_in_dogs.html I know the link is very large but please take a look at it. The site mentions these few things. The major problem is getting rid of the spores in your home so they don't reinfect your pets. Most spores are shed through the fur into the carpet, so occasional "dip" baths may be required to kill the spores that may linger on the fur of cats and dogs. As well, it is recommended that you destroy all pet bedding, blankets, brushes/combs, scratching posts and other items used by the pets. Any items that cannot be thrown out need to be soaked thoroughly in a solution of hot water and Betadine or Iodophor for one hour. They should then be rinsed in a mixture of water and .5% chlorine bleach. Drying the items outdoors in sunlight will also help. Vacuum your house thoroughly and be sure to immediately dispose of the vacuum bag. Then have all carpets and upholstery steam-cleaned and wash all walls with a mixture of water and chlorine bleach. If you have an air filter in your home, you must also dispose of the filter. also if your having issue with payment for your puppy mention it to your vet maybe they can help you out or contact the humane society and see if they can direct you to a vet that will not cost as much for treatment. Some vets are more concern with your puppies health then there pocket book. I had a vet like that once, and he treated my first dog with white dog syndrome. He did not charge me a thing.. as I was a student living on her own that could barely make my rent payments. Without that vet my dog would have suffered a lot. I payed them back, later and thanked them for there kindness. Hope your puppy gets better soon Last edited by Chester; 12-13-2004 at 12:40 PM.

Bebe and Mom, The same thing happened to my Gucci. It got worst and worst. We have being treating Gucci for 3 months now with oral meds and 2 special shampoos. Now her hair is finally growing back. The vet said Gucci will be on the treatment until a culture test comes back negative. I really hope Bebe start getting better soon. Keep us posted. Hugs, Gucci and Marie
