| This is the recipe I use out of Dr. Pitcairn's book. HEALTHY POWDER 2 cups nutritional or brewer's yeast 1 cup lecithin granules 1/4 cup kelp powder 1/4 cup bone meal powder 1,000 milligrams vitamin C (ground) or 1/4 teaspoon sodium ascorbate (ooptional) Mix all ingredients together in a 1-quart container and refrigerate. 1 to 2 teaspoons per day for cats or small dogs; 2 to 3 teaspoons per day for medium-size dogs; 1 to 2 tablespoons per day for large dogs. I put one teaspoon of the HEALTHY POWDER on my dogs food a day along with a vitamin A and E gel cap and 10 drops of evening primrose from a gel cap. I also add one capsule of Iron. I take the capsule apart and sprinkle over the food. Your not going to find a Vitamin that has every single vitamin and mineral in it for the dogs. I also give mine fresh crushed garlic a few times a week in their food. Between the garlic and the brewers yeast is probably the reason mine have never had fleas either, not to mention a healthy solid diet of real food. |

| Do you get all those things at a health store? Is it like a powder you put over the kibble, or do you cook for your babies?

| I use this healthy powder in homecooked food, not with kibble. If you want to give the healthy powder with kibble, I would probably omit the calcium (bone meal) since their food prob has enough calcium in it. I don't like to supplement vitamin A because of the risk of vitamin A toxicity, so I make sure and give the furkids enough carrots and sweet potatoes so that they get their vit A from betacarotene. I don't use iron either. I use Vitamin B-complex and Vitamin E You can pierce the end of a vit E and use half a thing of Vitamin E (100IU) per day probably, or you can put pour in a 400 IU Vitamin E in a large recipe...As far as Vitamin B, I crush Vitamin B-complex and add it to the recipe.

| It would really be best if you read a book like Dr. Pitcairns so you can know how much of everything to give your dog...And for those of you who prefer just to add a little homecooked and stuff to their kibble, he has info on that in the book as well.

| Yes, I cook the carrots and sweet potatoes lightly I buy my supplements from www.vitaminworld.com I purchased the Vitamin B-Complex 50 and Vitamin E 400IU The pitcairn book will tell you how much vitamin B-complex to give. It's a very small amount per day or you can put it in the recipe. I prefer to put it in the recipe. As far as the vitamin e, you can use one vitamin e 400IU for a whole recipe. I don't use a multi-vitamin..It's not necessary when you use the healthy powder mix, vit e, and vit b-complex.
