| Thanks. I have been making his meals, chicken and brown rice. That is it. I know when we were in Dakota they checked him for paracites, they did blood test and checked his stools and nothing showed up. I know that he is better off there. I am just worried that there is something really wrong. I am very scared. But thanks for the support I am going to need alot of it. |

| hmmm... could be something he ate. in all my cases like this, I assume its giardia. i give them giardia medicine, and it has always done the trick. anyhow, wait to see what the vet says.

| I was going to say something you are feeding him or Giardia too. Are you giving him any treats at all? I hope the vet can find out what is wrong and help him. Sometimes the test for parasites dont show up positive but if you redo them they will show up positive the second time. Keep us posted on what the doc says. |

| What is giardia????? All that he has had for 2 weeks is I have been fixing Chicken and brown rice and that is all that he has had. No treats and he doesn't like that. But I was just trying to get him better. I am so worried about him. I don't want to loose him. But when I called the vet back and said that the diarrhea was only clear now he said bring him now ASAP. So now I am very worried. I did take a stool sample. The vet in Dakota said that it was just inflamed bowels. I can't belive that is still what is going on. I hope I make it thur the night, I have just worried my self to death, now I am throwing up being worried about him and him being gone. |

| I sure hope Deiter gets well very soon. They probably kept him to avoid dehydration...and to build him up a little bit. I know it's sad to have to leave him there, but they'll take good care of him...and he'll be back home asap. Sending you a big hug to help get you though the night, call the vet in the morning. Hopefully by then they'll know what's wrong so it can be treated properly. Keep us updated when you can.

| My little Bailey goes through this once every 4 or 5 months. The first time it ever happened, I almost lost him . The vet sent him home with water under (or in) his skin. I stayed home with him the next day to be with him while he was going through this and just in case he needed to go back to the vet. Bailey has not been THAT bad again (knock on wood) but EVERY time he has the tinyest bit of a problem I freak out. Usually when he starts to have a problem, I give him a little less food and REALLY monitor his water intake. I also hold ice cubes in my hand for him to lick. I know what you are going through. My prayers are with you and your baby! |

| Have you ever tried human kaopectate? You can give 1/2ml to 1 ml per pound every 4 hrs. That has helped mine if they have the runs. ASK YOUR VET FIRST I hope he gets better soon. |

| I know it is difficult to leave him overnight, but pups can become dehydrated and then lead to more serious problems. Try to relax and the vet will talk with you tomorrow about your sweet boy. Warmly, Deborah

| I know this may not be the *best* advice, but take some nyquil! that should help you sleep, or a tylenol PM, at least you'll be able to sleep then you can go to the vet in the morning! I hope Dieter is better in the morning, or they at least figure out the problem and start the proper course of action! My thoughts are with you!!!

| Well Deiter got to come home the evening. They ran 5 blood test, did a fecal test which came back neg. They are still waiting on one test that they sent off to U of I that won't be back until end of week. But all other test have came back ok. It is not his liver, or his bowels. They gave him 4 shoots, amp/ B and 2 sets of B12 and he is on special dog food until it is gone then I start him back on what he has been eating. My Vet said that as far as he see's he just has an upset belly. He is pooping better it is just soft but starting to form now. I would like to say Thank you to everybody for helping me get thur this. I don't know what I would do without all you wonderful people. I hope that I can repay you sometime. Thanks from Deiter and Mommy. |
