| Have you tried grinding the puppy food, adding water, then maybe chicken baby food? Mix it all up. Maybe someone else has a better idea. I had to do this. |

| I finally got Maggie on regular puppy dry food. It took 2 months to do so, but we did it. I had spoiled her on human food. Even though I mixed it with crushed dry food, it was still human flavored. A couple of weeks ago, I purchased Royal Canin 33 Mini Puppy. She loves it. About once a week, she will do a starvation act, but I don't give in. I do give her Nutrical on days that she won't eat her food, but begs for human food. I was told my several members that the babies will not starve. I too was worried, but they were right. Put it down, and when they are ready, they will eat. If they pout for a day or so, make sure they get their Nutrical. They shouldn't go 8 hours without eating.

| Found a good solution My Winston is about 6 months old. He has been eating Royal Canine 33 but won't eat as much. If he eats 2 tablespoon, we get really excited. Last weekend, I took him shopping with me at this doggie boutique that sold Merrick brand dog food. They gave me a couple of small samples of Merrick's Puppy Plate (dry puppy food). I took about 15-20 little pieces, put a little water and popped it in the microwave for 30 seconds, you would not believe it is dog food. It smells just like my own chicken stew. I mash it up a bit and mix it with Winston's Royal Canine 33 (1/4 CUP). Winston's is so excited at meal times and finishes his plate without me begging for him to eat. Worth a try for your puppy. |

| Pepper was a picky eater and was a tiny so I was always worried about him not eating enough. He liked the Cesar puppy. I took about a tablespoon of it ,microwaved it for a couple of seconds so its soft and then would stir it into his puppy kibble. It seemed to work...he loved it. |

| Buddy will mainly only eat 'human' food aswell, but i do mix a handful of dry mix (called Burns mini bites, they are made by a vet in scotland and is fantastic when you look at the ingredients) I mix this in with either chicken, beef, liver etc and add a tiny bit of water so he doesnt seem to notice the dry bites are in with the human food. I do supplement him with a pet tab vitamin once a day though just to make sure and he absolutely loves goats milk. I have a cupboard full of unwanted/disliked dog food, boxes tins etc i bought the lot and he hated the lot...lol so in the end i gave up and he won with the human food, he has a very very healthy appetite!!! My vet told me if the solely eat human food then yes they should definately have vitamin supplements.

| we were a little concerned (ok, maybe a lot! ) because our little Toto would not eat any puppy food we offered. he was 8 weeks old when we got him and ate well, but once he got the taste of some table scraps, all desire for dry food was gone out the window. we tried all different types, dry and canned, combinations of dog food spinkled with some chicken or beef, but he was still finicky as heck! he is now a healthy 6 months and about 6lbs, 6oz and has learned that he will get his treats, and some tasty (and healthy, we hope) table scraps, BUT, he knows that HIS food is his, and ours' is ours'. he stays out of the kitchen (and waits eagerly in the living room!) while we eat. if he's been a good boy (ya right, like "when isn't he"?) we give the OK and in he comes for some leftovers, but not to excess. all in all, it's been a trying experience, but if you don't give in to the desire to feed him/her just for the sake of feeding him/her, your little loved one's appetite will take over, and he/she will eventually eat (from our experience). mixing things up a little is probably a good idea, as well...

When you finally got Toto off of Human Food and back to dog food, what kind did you feed him? How long did it take for him to realize he wasn't going to get human food. Your post sounds like our Maggie. I'm afraid I have her really nasty rotten. I'm trying to get her off human food mixed with her dry food. For instance, boiled chicken; scrambled egg; cheese; broth, etc. I was told by her breeder, whatever you feed them, make sure you mix it with their dry food. Her dry food is Royal Canin 33 Mini Puppy. She also has some Innova, and Bil Jac Puppy. Her favorite is the Royal Canin. My pantry is busting at the seams too, with all the food we have bought. Well, now she won't eat the mixture, no matter what I mix with it. My trash can run-ith-over. Hope you can steer me away from the kitchen.
