| How much to feed a 2lb'er. I know Gwen is still recovering, but I'm luck if she eats 1/2 a can of food a day, and a lick of two of water. I give her 4cc of pedalite each day so she won't dehydrate. What and how much are your babies eating and drinking. |

| Mackenzie is 4 1/2 months and weighs 2lbs 3oz...I free feed her too..she only gets dry food...except in the mornings....I give her a little bit of her dry food mixed with about a half teaspoon of cottage cheese, she loves it. Like I said I free feed through out the day, but what I put in her bowl I do measure, so what she is eating amounts to almost a half a cup each day.

| Maggie is 4 months and 4lbs. She eats 1/2 cup of Royal Canin Mini 33 a day and drinks about a cup of water. Sometimes in the morning, I give her about a TBLS. of canned chicken breast, mixed with about a TBLS. of dry food. Kinda jump starts her appetite for the day.

| Glad to hear Gwen is doing better. I think if you are leaving dry food down and maybe a few snacks throughout the day as well as nutrical then the amount she is eatng fine. |

| I wondered whether my Hugh and Frederick were eating enough too since when I free fed, there never seemed to be much gone. Now, I meal feed twice a day with scattered treats mixed in and they eat like theres no tomorrow. I ve learned all types of foods to try with them from reading on here so they get some ppl food and also they eat Eukaneuba and the Natural Choice Rolls. They are picky about other types of dog foods and wont eat at least 5-6 other kinds. The vet said they are eating well- Frederick is over 4 lbs and has "fat rounds" according to the vet. My 2 lber Hugh hardly gained any weight since his last vet visit and he eats nearly as much as Frederick. I was worried about how much water they drink too, but they seem to go after it. If Im worried, I give them some milk. Not much though. They love syringes too- so I could give them liquid that way if I was really worried. |

| I'm no expert but I believe how much you feed depends on what type of food you feed. I know the high end foods you feed a lot less because it has less filler. The lower end (grocery store) stuff you have to feed a lot more to get the same nutrients because there is so many fillers in the food. JMHO |

| Chewy free feeds and some days he eats a lot, some days he eats very little. A few times a week I will add some meat rolls to his bowl and he loves it. He's 4 months and about 2lbs. |

| When we took Muffie to the vet today, they weighed her at 7 lbs 4 ozs. I cut back on her food to 1/4 cup per meal last week. She's 10 1/2 yrs old. They also weighed Missy at 4 lbs 6 ozs at 4 months. She's eating 1/3 cup each meal.

| Glad to hear Gwen is better! Since Toto's bout with "porkiness" over a year ago ... we feed her 1/8 c. in the morning & 1/8 c. at night. She gets the Honest Kitchen "Force" [it's a raw diet that's slowly dehydrated and you rehydrate with warm water] ... you can either feed it with nothing added or add meat or veggies to it. I usually add a little shredded carrot, a little minced turkey breast and a pinch of grated cheese. During the day she gets a few Special K flakes for her "Good Girl" treats and around 10-11 AM she gets about 1 Tbls. of either cottage cheese or plain yogurt with a little minced apple! At night, after dinner and well before bedtime, she gets a teeny Greenie for her teeth. [Her vet and I have discussed on two occasions, the Greenie controversy. He says give them ... we never take our eyes off her and she has remarkable teeth!]! She loves water and drinks lots of it .... she likes a nice, clean, fresh bowl 2-3 times a day.
