| anyone ever use ZENTONIL I dont know if this is the right place, but I am on the search... Some of you know I have had a TIME with all 4 of my pups in the last couple of months being sick, we never found out what it was, diarrhea, basically for weeks on and off they were on Panacur, then Flagyl(which seemed to clear it up) we ran so many tests I thought I would have to borrow funds.... Hope's liver enzymes were elevated but not to the point of thinking liver shunt. She seems to be doing well on home cooking. The other dogs have been on Hills Z/D and it works for them as well, along with some home cooking too... the vet told me I should give Hope Zentonil, it would help her liver to stay healthy and help to repair any damage done by all of the sickness(which we still dont really know what it was... I read about it online and it seems ok, just wondering if anyone else had any experience with this. He called it a drug but they call it a "supplement"... thanks d

| thanks Lorraine... I hve never heard of it either... it is fairly new, the vet called it a MED, but the websites all show it as a liver "supplement"... I am not going to start her on it until I get to talk to the vet tomorrow.... THANKS! d

| Zentonil is like Sam-E (for humans), also known as Denosyl (for dogs). This is very helpful for the liver as it protects the liver... Zentonil, Sam-E, and Denosyl are all actually s-adenosylmethionine So they're basically the same thing This supplement should be given on an empty stomach, so it's usually best to give it to them in the morning at least 1 hr before eating. Also, another supplement that is extremely beneficial for the liver is milk thistle...It has antioxidants that help protect the liver from further damage and also help repair the parts that already are damaged.... These supplements can only help

| Her liver enzyme's were elivated? Is there protein showing in your urine also? Milk thistle and a lower protein diet is a good start, but ask your vet first AND ask that your dog be tested for Leptosperosis! |

The zentonil needs to be taken on an empty stomach at least 1 hr before a meal.

That link that I provided gives you all the medical information regarding this supplement. Read through it and see what you think. Also, Tootiesmom, I wanted to add that sometimes dogs experience a little bit of nausea with this supplement. Not always, but sometimes. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that they're taking it on an empty stomach. But it HAS to be taken on an empty stomach, otherwise, it's as good as giving them nothing at all.

| When she goes in for that next blood draw, if you don't already have a diagnosis, seriously....ask to have her blood sample tested for Lepto. |
